Lamborghini owner goes to pick up Mahindra Thar for wife in his supercar [Video]

The Mahindra Thar has become the ultimate SUV, drawing a lot of attention on the roads. We recently shared a story about a unique Mahindra Thar buyer who arrived at the dealership in his Lamborghini Huracan. Now, we have a video capturing the moment when Nimesh Diwan and his wife arrive at the showroom in their stunning Arancio Livrea shade Huracan to take delivery of their new Thar.

The video shows the couple arriving in style and performing rituals at the dealership, welcoming the new vehicle into their family. Interestingly, it appears that the new Thar is intended for the wife, as she confidently takes the driver’s seat and drives it back home. Despite common perceptions that the Thar may not be a suitable car for women, there are many female owners of the SUV who drive it regularly and thoroughly enjoy the experience.

Chose Thar instead of Defender

Diwan had an interesting experience when he randomly took a test drive of a Mahindra Thar. He enjoyed the overall experience, but his wife wasn’t as impressed, pointing out concerns about the interior quality and stiff ride compared to their previous SUVs, like the Range Rover Vogue and Audi Q7. Despite his wife’s reservations, Mr. Diwan went ahead and booked the Mahindra Thar. However, after a few days, he had a change of heart and decided to cancel the booking, setting his sights on a more premium vehicle.

His search led him to the three-door Land Rover Defender 90, and after taking a test drive, he was convinced it was the right choice for him. Unfortunately, he faced disappointment again when he learned about the nine-month waiting period for the Defender 90. Since he needed a new SUV urgently, he decided to explore the possibility of an earlier delivery for the Mahindra Thar. With that in mind, he contacted the Mahindra dealership once more to inquire about the availability.

To his surprise, the Mahindra dealership managed to arrange a new Thar in just two days, despite the usual long waiting period for the popular SUV. On the day of delivery, Mr. Diwan arrived at the Mahindra showroom in his Lamborghini Huracan and excitedly received his new Mahindra Thar LX diesel automatic 4WD in the elegant shade of Napoli Black. Taking it a step further, he decided to add some customizations to make it uniquely his own. He opted for an aftermarket LED headlamp, sleek black rearview mirrors, a more aggressive seven-slot grille, and the convenience of a reverse parking camera and front parking sensors.

The Mahindra Thar offers both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) versions. The Thar RWD comes with two powertrain options – a 2.0-litre 150 PS turbo-petrol engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and a 1.5-litre 118 PS diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. On the other hand, the Thar 4WD is available with a 2.0-litre 150 PS turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre 130 PS diesel engine, both of which come with the choice of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
