The new SUV is meant to be a luxurious vehicle for those looking for something much cheaper than the Range Rover Sport and the Vogue models. So, it is somewhat an mid-range model in the Range Rover line-up. Land Rover calls the Velar its most road-focused SUV, which means that this vehicle will be sold to buyers who’re looking to use it mainly on city roads and highways.

Rohit Suri, the MD of Jaguar-Land Rover India said,

The New Range Rover Velar is a symbol of sophisticated design, well-crafted interior, innovative features and technologies, backed by powerful and efficient powertrains. We are extremely delighted to bring the highly awaited and one of the most desirable SUVs with many of our customers are looking forward to own and drive.

Also, an all wheel drive system with Terrain Response is standard on all variants.

Other notable features on this SUV include Matrix LED headlamps, Touchscreen-based Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, Hill Descent Control, Hill Hold, adaptive air suspension, ventilated front seats with memory function, six airbags, ABS+EBD and an active rear-locking e-differential. Though bookings are now open across all Land Rover dealerships in India, deliveries of the Velar will begin only from the end of January 2018.
