We all are aware of the car accident in which young cricketer Rishabh Pant was involved. After the reports of the accident went viral legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev had shared a piece of advice for young cricketers. Kapil Dev has once again come forward and expressed his feelings about the accident. The cricketer said while he is happy that Rishabh Pant escaped the accident, he is not at all happy about the mistake and he would slap him for the same.
Rishabh Pant was involved in a major car accident on 30 December 2022. The accident happened at night when the cricketer was driving from Delhi to Uttarakhand in his Mercedes-Benz car. The accident happened at around 5:30 am on the Narsan border of Roorkee near Hammadpur Jhal. After the accident, Rishabh Pant was admitted to a hospital in Dehradun and later he was airlifted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute. The player is currently undergoing treatment and is likely to remain out of action for a long period.
Rishabh Pant is a great player in the Indian team. He was the highest run scorer in the test format last year and he was also expecting a spot in the squad for ODI world cup in 2023. Kapil Dev feels that the accident of the 25 year old player has spoiled the combination of the whole team. He went on to say that he has love and affection for Pant but, he is also angry at him for making such mistakes. He said that he would go and slap the wicketkeeper once he gets well.
Kapil Dev said, “I love him very much. I want him to get well and when he gets well If you go, I will go and slap you hard, because take care of yourself. Look, your injury has spoiled the combination of the whole team. That’s why there is love and affection that you get well soon. Then there is also anger that such mistakes today’s youth Why do boys do it? There should be a slap for that too.”
Soon after Rishabh Pant’s accident, Kapil Dev had shared a piece of advice for young cricketers. While speaking to the media Kapil Dev said, “Yes, you have a good-looking car with great speeds but you have to be careful. You can easily afford a driver, you don’t have to drive it alone. I understand that one has hobbies or even passion for such things, it’s natural to have it at his age, but you also have responsibilities. Only you can take care of yourself. You have to decide things for yourself.”
The CCTV footage from the spot gives an idea on how the accident happened. There was not much light on the road and there was fog too. The video shows Rishab Pant’s Mercedes-Benz crashing into the divider and hitting the street light pole on the divider. A Haryana Roadways bus driver and conductor stopped the bus and went to help the occupants. Both of them were felicitated by Haryana Government for the act.
