Luxury brand Lexus has launched the new LX 570 SUV in India. It is the brand’s new flagship SUV in the Indian market and it is priced at Rs. 2.33 crores, ex-showroom. Dealerships across India have started taking bookings and the deliveries will start soon. Lexus already offers the LX model in India but only with a diesel engine, but the new range-topping variant is powered by a petrol engine.
Lexus vehicles have a loud design and the LX SUV is no different. The vehicle gets an hour-glass shaped front grille with large headlamps. The vehicle looks monstrous on the road and has an extremely loud presence. It is a ladder-on-frame chassis and is based on the same platform as the Toyota Land Cruise 200. The vehicle really stands out in the crowd because of its premium features like LED headlamps, tail lamps and bulbous body curves.
On the inside, the vehicle is loaded to the brim with features. It is a 7-seater SUV and gets a dual-tone interior finished in leather and soft-touch materials. It gets a 19-speaker system from Mark Levinson, automatic climate control with 14 sensors around the vehicle, wireless phone charging and a heads-up display that shows various readings on the windshield itself.
N Raja, Chairman, Lexus India, said at the launch,
“The performance and perfection of the 2018 LX embody the highest expression of Lexus engineering and design in an SUV and delivers for the Indian road in ways not previously seen. The addition of the LX 570 to our line-up in India offers our guests a striking vehicle with a commanding presence on the road, and exceptional ride quality to match. This is a car built for those who navigate life’s twists and turns with ease and authority,”
The Lexus LX570 is powered by a massive 5.7-litre V8 engine that churns out a maximum of 362 Bhp and 530 Nm of peak torque. It can do 0-100 km/h in just 7.7 seconds making it quite quick. It also gets features like multi-terrain select that allows it go off-the-road too. It gets a 5-speed Crawl Control that adjusts the torque and brakes on each wheel independently, making the vehicle extremely capable. The SUV takes on the Land Rover Range Rover SVR in the Indian market.
