Hyderabad Woman Is India’s First 2.55 Crore Lotus Eletre Electric SUV Owner

Electric cars have become extremely popular in the last few years, and their popularity is only going to rise in the coming period. Even luxury carmakers have shifted their focus towards electric mobility, and one of the most recent cars to be launched by one such luxury carmaker is the Lotus Eletre EV SUV. The British luxury carmaker launched this SUV in India back in November of 2023 at a starting price of Rs 2.55 crore, and deliveries of this SUV have now begun.

The picture of India’s first customer-delivered Lotus Eletre EV SUV has been shared on Instagram by Car Crazy India on their official page. The post has been shared with a caption stating, “Presenting India’s first Lotus Eletre R. Finished in a shade of Natron Red, this EV makes a whopping 905bhp and goes from 0-100 in just 2.7s. Congratulations to @harshikarao on your new ride and congrats to @adsrulz and @krishna_vungarala on delivering the first new Lotus in India.” In the pictures shared, the owner of the car can be seen posing with her brand new EV SUV.

Lotus Eletre EV SUV

As stated above, the company launched this fully electric SUV back in November of 2023. This SUV is currently available in the Indian car market in three variants, namely, Eletre, Eletre S, and Eletre R. In terms of the exterior design, the Lotus Eletre boasts an extremely aggressive front fascia as it gets arrow-shaped DRLs and sleek LED headlights. It also features an active grille and wide air dams.

Moving on to the side profile, this electric SUV features a black-painted roof, chunky blacked-out wheel arches, and 22-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels. The company also offers 20 and 23-inch alloy wheels with the Eletre as well. As for the rear-end design, it comes equipped with a sleek sloping roof with a supercar-like spoiler and functional air dams. It also gets signature connected LED taillights that make it look even more futuristic in its appearance.

Now coming to the interior design of the Lotus Eletre EV SUV, it gets a feature-loaded futuristic-looking interior. The main highlight of its interior is the 15.1-inch foldable touchscreen infotainment system with Lotus Hyper OS. This SUV also comes equipped with four-zone climate control, 12-way electrically adjustable front seats, and a wireless charger. The British luxury carmaker also offers this SUV with ADAS, air purifier, LED ambient lighting, and a 15-speaker KEF-sourced sound system. The electric SUV can be had in four and five-seater configurations. The company also claims that it utilizes a number of recycled materials for its interior.

Lotus Eletre Powertrain

Coming to the powertrain of the Lotus Eletre, this EV SUV comes equipped with a 112kWh battery pack unit standard across the range. The Eletre and Eletre S get a dual-motor setup that, according to the company, provides a driving range of 600 km on a full charge. This setup is claimed to produce 600 bhp and 710 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the more performance-oriented Eletre R features a dual-motor setup and a two-speed transmission. This powertrain offers a lower driving range of 490 km, but on the other hand, it offers over 900 bhp and 985 Nm of torque, which is quite impressive.
