Alturas G4 is currently Mahindra’s flagship model in the country. It is basically a rebadged version of the Ssangyong Rexton which was sold in India before. It is a full size luxury SUV which competes with SUVs like Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloseter in the segment. Mahindra recently updated the Alturas to make it compliant with new BS6 emission norms. It is an expensive SUV and is not one of the best sellers from the manufacturer. Mahindra is currently offering a huge discount on Alturas which makes it even cheaper than a Toyota Fortuner. Mahindra is offering a maximum discount of Rs 3.06 lakh on this luxury SUV.
The discount that Mahindra is offering with the Alturas includes a cash discount of Rs 2.20 lakh, an exchange bonus worth Rs 50,000 along with a corporate discount of Rs 16,000. Apart from these, Mahindra is also offering other benefits worth Rs 20,000 with the luxury SUV. Mahindra had launched the Alturas G4 in 2018 and it is available with a diesel engine option only.
In comparison to international model Ssangyong Rexton, Alturas is slightly different. These changes were made to make it more appealing to Indian buyers and also to keep the costs low. It got a redesigned grille smaller wheel but, even then it could not make much of a difference in the segment that is ruled by Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. It is a well equipped SUV with premium features on the inside. It gets a plush looking cabin with Nappa leather seats and gets features like touchscreen infotainment system, electric sunroof, elelctrically adjustable seats and so on. It offers 9 airbags, ABS+EBD, Electronic Stability Programme, ARP, HDC, HAS, BAS and ESS.

Alturas is available with a 2.2 litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates a maximum of 180 Ps and 420 Nm of torque. It is available with a automatic transmission only. This is a unit that is sourced from Mercedes-Benz. Mahindra imports Alturas as completely knocked Down unit from Korea and assembles it here in their Chakan plant. Unlike some other SUV, Mahindra Alturas gets a proper 4×4 system with a low range transfer case.
Mahindra is also planning to discontinue Alturas due to low demand. According to some reports, Mahindra currently has component to build 500 units of Alturas and once the materials are finished they will discontinue the flagship SUV. That could also be the reason this discount that is now available.
Apart from Alturas Mahindra is also offering discounts on XUV500, KUV100 NXT and Bolero. XUV500 gets a cash discount of Rs 12,200, exchange bonus worth Rs 20,000, corporate discount worth Rs 9,000 and additional benefits of Rs 10,000. KUV100 NXT gets a cash discount of Rs 38,055, exchange benefit worth Rs 20,000 and corporate discount of Rs 4,000. Bolero is Mahindra’s oldest model that is still in production and the BS6 version of Bolero is being offered with a cash discount of Rs 10,000 and corporate discount of Rs 4,000 along with additional benefits worth Rs 6,550. Mahindra is currently working on next-gen Scorpio and XUV500. These SUVs have been spotted testing on our roads couple of times and are expected to launch next year.
