Production-Spec Mahindra BE.05 Electric SUV’s Interior Spied

Mahindra is one of the leading SUV manufacturers in India, and like all its rivals, Mahindra also has big plans for the future. They have been working on several new electric vehicles for the Indian and international markets. Mahindra has already started testing these electric vehicles, and we have spotted some of them on the road lately. We now have a new set of images that show how the interiors of the upcoming Mahindra BE.05 electric SUV will look.
The “BE” in the name of the car stands for Born Electric Platform. This means the BE range of cars is built from scratch and is not based on any existing Mahindra model. We have seen the concept images and the spy pictures in the past. It looks like Mahindra is making steady progress, and the electric SUV is expected to be launched in the market sometime next year.
The recently leaked images show the cabin. We have seen several exterior images of the BE.05, but the new set of images shows the cabin. The car seen here has an all-black cabin. The upcoming EV will have a floating-type center console with storage space underneath.
We see a rotary knob to control the infotainment screen, and right next to it is a proper gear lever. There is also a plastic panel that divides the driver and co-passenger sides of the cabin.
The EV has AC vents that are integrated into the dashboard and run across its width. If you notice carefully, we do not see any handles on the door to open it. However, we do see a strap. It is possible that the strap is just there for the test mule; however, it would be interesting if Mahindra introduces this strap design to open the doors in the production version.
The BE.05 comes with a flat top and bottom steering wheel. It is a two-spoke unit with the BE logo in the center. There are control buttons on both the left and right spokes of the steering wheel. Behind the steering wheel, we see a fully digital instrument cluster. Unlike some other Mahindra electric cars, this one doesn’t get a triple display.
This comes with twin 10.25-inch digital screens which serve the purpose of an instrument cluster and an infotainment screen. Coming to the exterior, Mahindra unveiled the BE.05 concept back in 2022. It has a coupe-like exterior design which is gaining popularity. We have brands like Tata and Citroen bringing this coupe SUV design back into the market.
The BE.05 test mule has been spotted testing several times, and the test mule looks very similar to the concept Mahindra showcased. It has a drop-down design for LED DRLs with projector LED headlamps and an angular-looking front fascia. As this is an EV, the front grille is completely closed.
The BE.05 is made using Mahindra’s new INGLO EV platform. This will also be used for their other new electric cars. The exact specifications of the battery pack are not available, but it is expected that the Mahindra BE.05 will have a drive range of 435-450 km. Mahindra also showcased a Rall-E version of the BE.05.
