Mahindra Bolero is one of the oldest model produced by Indian utility vehicle manufacturer. It has been a popular model among buyers both in urban and rural market and Mahindra has been constantly making updates to keep it relevant in the market. Last year, Mahindra updated Bolero and made it compliant with new safety norms and this year the Bolero got a BS6 compliant engine along with some minor cosmetic changes. Now, the Indian utility vehicle giant has added a new trim to the BS6 version of Bolero to make it more accessible to buyers.
Mahindra has now launched a B2 trim or variant with Bolero which is now the new entry level version. Earlier, Bolero was available with B4, B6 and B6 (O) trims. The B2 as most of you might have already guessed is also cheaper than the B4 version. The new entry level B2 version is priced at Rs 7.64 lakh, which is approximately Rs 36,000 cheaper than B4 trim.
Exact details regarding the features available with B2 trim is not available at the moment but, considering the fact that it is the new entry level offering, Mahindra is expected to give only basic features like power steering, ABS, airbags and reverse parking sensors with the car. Other features like a music system, central locking, power windows, rear windscreen wiper will be available with the higher trims as usual.
Mahindra Bolero BS6 version gets minor changes on the outside in comparison to the BS4 version. The BS6 version gets a redesigned bumper at the front. Similarly, the front grille gets cosmetic changes and the headlamp design has been slightly revised internally. Even after so many years after the launch, Mahindra has not played much with the basic design of this MUV. It still gets a boxy shape and looks rugged. It definitely looks like a vehicle that has been purposefully built to handle places with broken roads or no roads at all. Mahindra Bolero BS6 is powered by a BS6 compliant diesel engine. The 1.5 litre diesel engine that powers Bolero generates a maximum of 75 Ps and 210 Nm of peak torque. This 1.5 litre diesel engine is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission. The MUV is a hot seller in semi-urban and rural markets, where its hardy nature, bomb-proof reliability and affordable price tag are major draws among buyers.
