The country’s largest SUV manufacturer, Mahindra Automotive, has recently announced plans to launch 16 new SUVs by 2030. This impressive lineup of upcoming SUVs will include nine new internal combustion engine (ICE) models. Additionally, there will be seven born-electric vehicles (BEVs). So far, we know a few of these upcoming models and most of their details. Meanwhile, some are still under wraps, and we only know a few things about them. So without any further ado, here are all the details that we know.

Nine New ICE SUVs

XUV 3XO

The first of these SUVs is the recently launched XUV 3XO. This particular SUV, as we already knew, was going to be the first of the three mid-cycle updates. Mahindra has taken the country by storm with the new XUV 3XO. It was reported by the brand that it received over 50,000 bookings in just an hour.

Deliveries will start on May 26. This time around, the company has launched this sub-compact SUV with a heavily revised exterior, and it gets a ton of features on the inside, like a panoramic sunroof, ADAS level 2, and a bunch of others. Powertrain options have been kept the same.

XUV 7XO

Expected to be the updated version of the XUV700. Mahindra is also gearing up for the launch of the XUV 7XO. This new name has been recently trademarked by the brand. As the company has recently renamed the XUV 300 as XUV 3XO, it will most likely rename the XUV 700 as XUV 7XO as well.

The exact list of updates for the new Mahindra XUV 7XO has not been revealed. However, it will most likely come with design tweaks and upgraded technology. Given the success of the XUV700 since its launch in August 2021, this new facelift aims to keep the model fresh and appealing to consumers.

Scorpio-N

Mahindra has enjoyed an extensive amount of success with the Scorpio-N. However, since it was launched in June 2022, it is also due for a mid-cycle update. As per the reports, the updated Scorpio-N is expected to offer improved features. This means that the SUV could most likely get feature upgrades such as ADAS level 2 and others. It could also get slightly revised exterior design as well.

Thar Armada (Thar 5-Door)

One of the most anticipated models to be launched by Mahindra with an internal combustion engine will be the Thar 5-Door. Most likely, it will be named the Thar Armada. The company has trademarked this name.

As we all know, this all-new lifestyle off-roader SUV will share its underpinnings and powertrains with the Scorpio-N and Thar 3-Door. The Thar Armada will get additional doors in the middle along with a new bench seat. It will also get a ton of new features, including a full metal roof.

It will also get a single-pane electric sunroof, roof-mounted speakers, a new bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and others. Most likely, it will also be equipped with ADAS. Other updates include a new front grille, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a few minor exterior design changes over the three-door Thar.

Scorpio Pickup

Mahindra is also gearing up for the launch of the new Scorpio pickup. The extremely rugged-looking concept of the Scorpio pickup was initially shown as a concept last year in South Africa. This model will be based on the Scorpio-N Platform and will offer similar design cues. But in general, it will boast a much more utilitarian design.

New Bolero SUV

Mahindra is working hard on the development of the next-generation Bolero. This highly popular SUV from the brand that still pulls a lot of sales will get a brand new platform. The company is developing the new Bolero based on the all-new U171 platform.

As per the reports, it will be able to retain its legendary durability. However, it will now be incorporating modern design and features. This new Bolero aims to appeal to traditional Bolero fans. Along with it, the company is aiming to lure in more new buyers looking for a rugged yet contemporary SUV.

Bolero Seven-Seat Derivative

Alongside the new Bolero, Mahindra will introduce a seven-seat variant. This new model will also be based on the same U171 platform, which it is currently developing. This derivative will provide additional seating capacity. Apart from these details, not much is known about this SUV.

XUV 1XO and XUV 5XO

As per the recent reports, Mahindra has also trademarked the names XUV 1XO and XUV 5XO. Presently, the specific details about these models remain scarce. However, what we can guess is that the XUV 1XO could be a micro-SUV, which will be competing with the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter.

Meanwhile, the XUV 5XO could be a compact SUV. And it could be competing in the fiercely competitive midsize SUV segment. It most likely will be taking on the rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and others.

Seven New Born-Electric Vehicles (BEVs)

Mahindra, as we all are aware, is betting big on the future of electric mobility. For this, it has already revealed its INGLO platform. The company, based on this new EV architecture, is gearing up to launch a ton of new electric SUVs.

Mahindra XUV.e8

The first of the new electric SUVs from the brand will be the Mahindra XUV.e8. Based on the already popular XUV 700, the new electrified version of this SUV will boast a new exterior design. There will be a few updates on the interior as well.

As per the reports, it could come equipped with an all-wheel-drive system. It could also come equipped with battery options up to 80 kWh. As for power output, it could range from 230 bhp to over 350 bhp.

Mahindra XUV.e9 Coupe

Following closely will be the XUV.e9 Coupe. This particular SUV will also be based on XUV 700 and XUV.e8. However, its USP will be its unique-looking coupe-like rear end. This sporty aesthetics with an electric drivetrain will set it apart.

Mahindra BE.05 SUV

Another highly anticipated electric SUV from the brand is the BE.05. This unique SUV will feature an extremely futuristic design and will get a very modern interior as well.

The BE.05 will also be underpinned by Mahindra’s brand-new INGLO EV skateboard platform. It could offer battery sizes ranging from 60-80 kWh.

Thar EV

Mahindra Automotive previewed the concept of the Thar.E. last year. The electric version of the already popular Thar will boast the iconic ruggedness of the Thar with an electric drivetrain. As per the reports, it will come equipped with a 60 kWh battery pack sourced from the Chinese carmaker BYD.

Additional BEVs

For the remaining three BEVs, we do not have complete details about them. However, what we do know is that they will be based on the INGLO platform. These models will feature battery sizes ranging from 60-80 kWh.

They will also come capable of fast charging up to 175 kW. And reportedly, they will be offering driving ranges between 435 km to 450 km under the WLTP cycle. Both rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive options will be made available by the brand.
