Mahindra has launched the 8-seater variant of the Marazzo today. The new variant is exclusively for the M8 trim, which is the top spec trim level of the MPV. Though 8 seat configurations were available prior to this on M2, M4 and M6 variants, the top end M8 trim only had a seven seat configuration up till. now.
With this, those who wanted a premium 8-seat MPV that is priced less than the Innova will definitely want to look into the the Marazzo M8 8 seater. Being the top end variant, it comes with all the bells and whistles expected in a car with that price tag.
Speaking of which, the Marazzo 8-seater M8 is priced at Rs. 13.98 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is Rs. 8,000 more than the 7 seat version of the Marazzo M8, which retails at Rs. 13.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the top end Marazzo is still a lot cheaper than the base variant of Innova Crysta, which retails for Rs. 14.82 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The M8 variant of Marazzo is quite feature rich and can carry a load of 7 to 8 passengers in full comfort. The MPV comes with many top-of-the-line features including a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with Capsense & Haptics technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a reverse parking camera with dynamic guidelines. Other features include a 17-inch alloy wheels, Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), faux leather seats and window-mounted sunshades for second-row passengers. The MPV is also quite spacious and comfortable to be in. We even managed to get a spectacular 28 km/l mileage from the Mahindra Marazzo, about which you can read here.
Speaking on the occasion, Veejay Nakra, Chief of Sales and Marketing – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said:
The globally engineered Marazzo has generated a lot of interest among buyers. This is due to its unique architecture that offers the best of both worlds in the form of car-like ride and handling coupled with the toughness and stability of a body-on-frame construction. The inclusion of the 8-seater option on the top-end M8 variant will further widen the Marazzo’s appeal.
The Mahindra Marazzo gets powered by a newly developed 1.5 litre diesel engine that churns out a decent 121 Bhp of power along with 300 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six speed manual transmission, which drives the front wheels of the MPV. The MPV gets an ARAI certified fuel efficiency rating of 17.6 km/l which is quite decent. Mahindra plans to launch a turbocharged petrol variant in 2020. Before that, the Marazzo will get an AMT option with the diesel motor.
The price range for the Mahindra Marazzo starts at Rs. 9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base M2 variant while the just launched 8 seater M8 variant costs Rs. 14.98 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Though the MPV does not have any direct rivals as of now (except for the Renault Lodgy), the car gets competition from the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova Crysta, both of which are either a segment down (former) or up (latter).
