Mahindra Marazzo BS6 Diesel MPV launching soon: New M6+ variant to be introduced

Mahindra had launched the Marazzo MPV in the market a couple of years ago and had recently stopped the production of it due to the new BS6 emission norms. Mahindra has not discontinued the MPV though, and is working on making its engine BS6 compliant. According to some reports, Mahindra will soon be launching the updated Marazzo in the market. It competes with cars like Maruti Ertiga and XL6, which are already BS6 compliant vehicles. The Marazzo BS6 will continue to get the 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine that was available with the BS4 variants.
As per Team-Bhp, Mahindra Marazzo BS6 version will be available in three trims namely, M2, M4+ and M6+ and the price for the top-end M6+ trim Marazzo is expected to be 13.49 lakh, ex-showroom. Mahindra is also expected to offer features like power windows, central locking, USB charging port for rear passengers, roof mounted AC vents as standard in the base M2 trim.
The M6+ trim will offer all the features the M2 offers plus adjustable driver seat, USB and AUX in for rear passenger, rear windshield wiper, washer and defogger, electrically adjustable ORVMs, 16-inch alloy wheels, 4.2 inch infotainment screen with bluetooth connectivity. The top-end M6+ trim will offer all the features in lower trims along with projector type headlamps with cornering lamps, fog lamps for both front and rear, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, rear parking camera, conversation mirror, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and so on.

The BS6 version of Marazzo might miss out on feature like cruise control, auto folding ORVMs, leatherette seats, cooled glove box and so on. These features were available in the M8 trim of Marazzo in BS4 version. Mahindra Marazzo is only available with a diesel engine at the moment. It is powered by a 1.5 litre diesel engine that generates 121 Bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque. It is mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox and currently does not offer an automatic transmission. Mahindra might introduce an AMT gearbox for diesel version in future.
Mahindra had launched their new mStallion series of petrol engines at the Auto Expo earlier this year, and the 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine generating 160 Bhp and 280 Nm of torque is likely to be introduced at a later stage on this MPV. The petrol engine might even offer an automatic transmission when launched.
