Mahindra’s biggest launch for 2018 will be an all-new monocoque MPV called the Marazzo. The Mahindra Marazzo will be a premium MPV sold in 7-seat and 8-seat layouts. Developed as a global vehicle by Mahindra’s North American research and development arm, the Marazzo MPV will be launched in India some time in October 2018. The MPV is expected to sit between the Maruti Ertiga and the Toyota Innova Crysta, in terms of pricing, but is likely to be as large as the latter. This aspect will ensure that the Mahindra Marazzo gets to play the value-for-money card. Meanwhile, here is a new video that fully reveals the interiors of the MPV.
As revealed by the video, the Mahindra Marazzo MPV will get beige interiors with a black-and-brown dashboard. The luxurious cabin is expected to offer leather seats on the top-end variants, with four captain seats with individual armrests.
The 8-seat variant will have a three-seat bench layout on the middle row. Another interesting feature on the Mahindra Marazzo’s interiors is the roof-mounted air conditioner for all passengers. This is expected to cool/warm the cabin of the MPV evenly, keeping all occupants comfortable. The dashboard also gets an integrated gear shift lever.
The Mahindra MPV will be launched with a new 1.6 litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, and a front-wheel drive layout. The platform will be ready to support an all-wheel drive layout as well, but it’s unclear if Mahindra will offer an all-wheel drive layout in the Indian market. As for size, the Marazzo will have the largest footprint of a Mahindra car in India, and is expected to be very spacious on the inside. Plans are afoot to sell it from a more premium space in Mahindra dealerships. More details on the MPV are likely to surface in the coming weeks, in the run up to launch.
