Mahindra builds the Marazzo at its Nashik facility. The highest demand for the Marazzo is for the top-end M8 trim. An NDTV report adds that the customers walking in for the XUV500 and TUV300 seem to be interested in the Marazzo after seeing the MPV in the flesh at dealerships. It remains to be seen if the Marazzo poaches XUV500 and TUV300 buyers.

The Mahindra Marazzo was developed by the automaker’s North American technical center operating out of Michigan. The MPV is a global vehicle, and is likely to make its debut in other parts of the world next year. It features the largest footprint for a Mahindra passenger car, and also packs in a brand new engine.

The engine in question is a 1.5 litre-4 cylinder turbocharged diesel with 121 Bhp of peak power and 300 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a 6 speed manual gearbox that drives the front wheels of the MPV. Mahindra plans to offer a petrol engine on this MPV from 2020.

Even automatic gearboxes are expected to be offered both on the petrol and diesel variants of the Mahindra Marazzo from 2020. Until then, Mahindra plans to scale up production of this MPV to meet demand from across the country. Notably, all parts of India are yet to receive the Marazzo, which is currently on sale only in the bigger cities.

Mahindra has also tied up with noted Indian customization outfit DC Design for a lounge version of the Marazzo. The lounge version features first class aircraft lounge-style seats at the rear, and is a four seater. The regular Marazzo is offered in 7 and 8 seat variants.

The MPV also gets a range of official accessories from Mahindra, which can be fitted to the MPV at the dealer level. These accessories will ensure that the MPV’s standard factory warranty stays intact. Prices of the Mahindra Marazzo start from Rs. 9.99 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi.
