We’re less than two weeks away from the launch of Mahindra’s hottest new offering for the Indian market – the Marazzo MPV. Developed to be a global MPV, the Mahindra Marazzo will be launched on the 3rd of September, 2018. Mahindra has been constantly releasing teasers in a bid to build momentum for the Marazzo ahead of its official launch. The latest in the set of teasers is the twin-barrel headlamp that the MPV will feature. The twin-barrel headlamps of the Mahindra Marazzo will have LEDs, which are soon becoming commonplace on most new cars. Notably, the MPV will have the largest footprint of a Mahindra passenger vehicle.
It’ll get a monocoque body and a front-wheel drive layout as standard. An all-wheel drive layout could be offered in international markets, and possibly even in India on the top-end variants. The Marazzo will be sold in 7 and 8-seat layouts. The MPV will get beige interiors with an interesting dashboard design where the gearshifter is integrated.
The MPV promises to be the most spacious offering in its class that will offer high levels of comfort. Individual arm rests for the first four captain seats and roof-mounted AC vents for even cabin cooling are two such features aimed at boosting comfort.
A newly developed 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine with 120 Bhp-300 Nm is expected to power the Mahindra Marazzo. While a 6-speed manual gearbox is likely to be standard, no word about an automatic option is out as yet. In terms of pricing, the Mahindra Marazzo is expected to start from under Rs. 10 lakhs, and is likely to sit between the Maruti Ertiga and the Toyota Innova Crysta – two hot selling MPVs in India.
There’s talk of Mahindra positioning the Marazzo as a premium offering, and selling it through a special ‘Prime’ zone earmarked for premium offerings. These ‘Prime’ zones will be housed within existing Mahindra dealerships. All said, the exact price and positioning strategy for the Marazzo MPV will be known only at the time of launch.
