Mahindra Scorpio N owner shares why he bought this SUV over XUV700 & Toyota Fortuner

Mahindra Scorpio N recieved an overwhelming response from customer. Just like many other Mahindra product, Scorpio N also has long waiting period. Deliveries for Scorpio N have started and the SUV can be seen on the road as well. We are seeing response of Scorpio N owners in the form of videos where they share positives and negatives about the SUV. Here we have one such video of a Scorpio N owner where he shares why he bought this SUV over a Toyota Fortuner or Mahindra XUV700.

The video has been uploaded by CarMafia on their YouTube channel. In this video, the Scorpio N owner who is also a fellow YouTuber talks about the factors that helped him buy Scorpio N. He mentions that his first priority was 4×4. That is one of the main reason for not buying XUV700. Even the top-end diesel automatic variant of XUV700 is available with AWD only. This is different from 4×4 which is available with the Scorpio N that he owns. The reason why he did not buy Fortuner was simply because of the price.

He mentions that Fortuner currently feels overpriced and it does not even offer many of the features that Mahindra Scorpio N is offering. Mahindra Scorpio N is a value for money product and it is the only manufacturer in the market to offer a 7-seater 4×4 SUV under Rs 30 lakh. He did not go for Mahindra Thar simply because it is not practical. Scorpio N is still more practical as he can easily seat 5 passengers in it. He even mentions that if he had the budget, he would have gone for Toyota Fortuner but, Toyota should start offering bit more in terms of features. He mentions that Toyota should upgrade the infotainment system, offer much more premium looking interiors, an electric sunroof, 360 degree camera which is a must for large SUVs like Fortuner and so on.

He can be heard saying that it would have been great if Mahindra had offered 360 degree camera with Scorpio N instead and front and rear. Even then the front camera feature is quite useful while driving through rough road surfaces. When it comes to Mahindra, the Scorpio N owns a Bolero too and he mentions that the aftersales and service of Mahindra is disappointing and the manufacturer should work on improving the same. Overall, the main reason why he bought Scorpio N was simply because it was meeting all his requirements, meeting his personality and was also not too heavy on the pocket.

The owner mentions that he likes to keep his vehicles stock but, he might consider making modifications on this SUV in future if it would enhnace it performance or off-road capabilities. Mahindra Scorpio N is available with two engine options. There is a 2.0 litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine and there is a 2.2 litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine. Both petrol and diesel engine options are available with manual and automatic transmission options. Only the diesel variant is available with 4Xplore 4×4 feature. Price for Mahindra Scorpio N starts at Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom and go up to Rs 23.90 lakh, ex-showroom.
