Mahindra, a prominent name in the Indian automotive industry, continues to expand its portfolio with the launch of the new Mahindra Scorpio N Z8 Select variant. Positioned between the existing Z8 and Z6 trims, the Z8 Select variant presents an enticing proposition for buyers seeking a balance between features and affordability.

2024 Mahindra Scorpio-N: New, More Affordable Z8 Select Top End Trim Launched

Priced competitively between Rs 16.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh ex-showroom, the Scorpio N Z8 Select variant offers significant value, commanding a premium of Rs 1.11 lakh to Rs 1.65 lakh less than its higher-spec Z8 counterparts. While it sits slightly higher in price compared to the Z6 variant, priced Rs 69,000 to Rs 1.38 lakh above it, the Z8 Select variant aims to strike a perfect balance in terms of pricing and features.

In line with Mahindra’s commitment to offering versatile powertrain options, the Z8 Select variant mirrors its higher-spec Z8 counterpart, offering the choice between the powerful 203hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and the efficient 175hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine. These engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox, ensuring a dynamic and engaging driving experience across diverse road conditions.

Despite its competitive pricing, the Scorpio N Z8 Select variant does not compromise on essential features and safety equipment. While it misses out on some premium features such as push-button start, tyre pressure monitor, dual-zone climate control, power folding wing mirrors, and automatic headlights and wipers, it retains several desirable features found in its higher-spec sibling. These include 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED lighting, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch TFT instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a sunroof, rear disc brakes, and a comprehensive safety suite comprising six airbags and ESC.

A notable addition to the Z8 Select variant is the introduction of the captivating ‘Midnight Black’ exterior finish, enhancing the vehicle’s visual appeal and adding a touch of sophistication to its overall design.

With its compelling combination of competitive pricing, versatile powertrain options, and a comprehensive set of features, the Mahindra Scorpio N Z8 Select variant is poised to carve a niche for itself in the highly competitive SUV segment. Scheduled to arrive at Mahindra dealerships from March 1 onwards, the Z8 Select variant is set to strengthen the appeal of the Scorpio N lineup among discerning Indian buyers, reaffirming Mahindra’s position as a leading player in the Indian automotive market.
