Mahindra Scorpio SUV online configurator revealed

Mahindra has just come up with an online customiser for the new Scorpio SUV. The customiser or configurator allows owners and prospective buyers of the Scorpio to try out various accessories online. Mahindra sells all these accessories through its dealerships and through this configurator. Customers now have the option of seeing what their vehicles will look like with these accessories before purchasing them. Prospective customers can also share the configurator with their families and friends for their opinions on the accessorized vehicle. As for the various accessories Mahindra sells with the new Scorpio, there are multiple alloy wheel designs, a chrome package, a roof carrier and various guards for the front and rear ends of the vehicle.

The Scorpio received a facelift less than 6 months ago. It’s now available in 6 variants – S3, S5, S7, S7 140 PS, S11 and S11 4WD. The S3 variant is an entry-level model aimed mainly at cab operators, rural and semi-urban markets. The Scorpio S3 is powered by a 2.5-litre M2DICR turbocharged diesel engine that makes 75 Bhp and 200 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels is standard. Other variants of the Scorpio get the 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine in two states of tune: 120 Bhp-280 Nm, and 140 Bhp-320 Nm. The lower state of tune uses a 5-speed manual gearbox while the higher state of tune gets a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The more powerful state of tune also gets a four wheel drive layout as an option on the top-end S11 variant. The Scorpio now gets airbags and ABS as standard on all variants except the S3 base trim. As for improvements, the facelifted Scorpio gets a much fresher design. The interiors have been enhanced with more features. Mechanically, the suspension of the SUV has been worked upon for better ride quality and handling. Then there’s the newly introduced 140 Bhp state of tune for the mHawk diesel engine and a new 6-speed manual gearbox. Prices of the facelifted Scorpio start from Rs. 9.99 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. The top-end S11 4WD variant is priced at Rs. 16.09 lakh.
