Mahindra has released a new teaser of an electric vehicle that they are currently working on. The interior looks very similar to the one found on the XUV700. It has a large rectangular screen that will split into two units. So, there will be a digital instrument cluster whereas the second unit will be a touchscreen infotainment system. The centre console also has a rotary dial and a couple of cup holders. The red colour might signify ambient lighting.
This is not the first teaser that the Indian manufacturer has shown. The previous teaser showcased the exterior LED Daytime Running Lamp of the upcoming electric SUVs. These SUVs are going to be revealed in July 2022 and they are a part of Mahindra’s Born Electric Vision.

Mahindra was one of the first Indian manufacturers to launch an electric vehicle. However, right now Mahindra does not have anything for the mass market. The new electric SUVs are designed at Mahindra’s new design studio facility located in the UK. It is called Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE).
The previous teaser video teased the front-end design of the electric SUVs. All three of them had C-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps whereas the largest SUV also had a light bar in between the DRLs. A similar C-shaped light design is also at the rear. The largest electric SUV also has a light bar at the rear. The design of the SUVs is bold and it seems like they will have a lot of road presence once they are launched in the Indian market. As per rumours, the three SUVs are eXUV300, eXUV700 and a new eXUV900. The XUV900 will be the coupe SUV version of the XUV700.
Mahindra will be investing around Rs 3,000 Crores to launch electric vehicles in the Indian market. They will be converting 4 internal combustion-powered vehicles to electric vehicles and other than 4 all-new electric SUVs will be all-new. As of now, not much is known about the upcoming electric vehicles. However, Mahindra is testing eKUV100 and eXUV300. The test mules of both the vehicles have been spotted while they were on the test.
Mahindra eXUV300 (XUV400) & eKUV100 launch timeline
While announcing the financial results of Q3, Mahindra revealed they will be launching the eXUV300 during the third or fourth quarter of FY2022-23. The eKUV100 will be launched by the end of this year. According to some media reports, Mahindra wants to differentiate between the XUV300 and its electric version. So, the electric version of XUV300 is expected to be called XUV400. They first showcased the concept versions of the eXUV300 and eKUV100 at the Auto Expo 2020.
The eXUV300 is expected to be offered in two battery sizes. The small one will be more suitable for people who use the SUV for their daily commutes while the larger battery size will be for people who will also use their SUV on highways for covering long distances. The regular version is expected to have a driving range of 200 km whereas the extended range version is expected to have a driving range of 375 km. It will compete directly against the Tata Nexon EV.
