Almost every part on this Mahindra Thar has been modified and the owner has spent almost 10 lakh on just modifications. The owner starts with the front of the SUV. The headlights on this Thar are aftermarket units and there are multiple auxiliary lamps installed on the car. Coming to the side profile, the Thar looks slightly taller than the regular version. The reason behind that is the new suspension setup.
This new set up offers a comfortable ride on the road and improves wheel articulation while off-road. Mahindra offered only soft tops with old generation Thar. This was replaced by the owner with a custom made metal hard top. On the roof, the car got not one but, four different toughened glass panels on it. The glass used on the roof was extremely thick to avoid any damage from the rolling stones on hilly roads. The wheels are were 16 inch off-road units with chunky off-road tyres wrapped around it.
The engine on this Thar has been tuned and it now generates over 150 Bhp according to the owner. The exhaust is now a free flow unit and it generates a diesel truck like note. The air filter has also been updgraded. There is a snorkel on the car to improve water wading abilities. Moving, the Thar gets the stock leather seat covers of Thar 700. The owner managed to get two more seats of a Mahindra Thar 700 and replaced it with the bench seats at the rear. There is a false ceiling installed on the roof and the car gets an entertainment screen installed on it for rear seat passengers. There is a small touchscreen infotainment system at the front as well. The speaker system on this car has been completely upgraded and the owner mentions that many of these modifications on the Thar were done by him only.
