Mahindra Thar Earth Edition Launched: Prices Start From 15.4 Lakh

Mahindra has always been known for its rugged and capable SUVs, and the Thar is a no different. Mahindra Thar is a popular off-road vehicle which targets a large number of people and not only off-roaders.

Mahindra has recently launched the Thar Earth Edition which takes things a step further. Thar Earth Edition a unique blend of design, comfort, and off-road capabilities that draws inspiration from the mighty Thar Desert.

The Thar Earth Edition stands out from the crowd with its exclusive “Desert Fury” satin matte color inspired from the shifting sands of the desert. This subtle yet striking finish is complemented by custom dune-inspired decals on the doors, silver alloy wheels sporting the Thar branding, and matte black badges. The “Desert Fury” theme also extends into the grille, ORVMs, and throughout the body which ensures a cohesive and visually appealing look. The Earth Edition badge on the B-pillars is also added for a touch of exclusivity.

The desert theme is continued into the Thar Earth Edition’s interior. The interior looks very different from the normal Thar and follows the theme of desert fury and black. The interior changes include beige leatherette seats which are cleverly adorned with a shifting dunes pattern on the headrest.

This, along with subtle Desert Fury color accents throughout the cabin, creates a sense of connection with the natural environment and matches the theme of the exterior. Under the hood, the Thar Earth Edition offers the same engine options as the normal Mahindra Thar. These option include:
• 2.0-liter mStallion TGDi Petrol: This turbocharged petrol engine delivers a potent 150 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque.
• 2.2-liter mHawk Diesel: The reliable diesel engine churns out a healthy 130 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque.

Both engines offer a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Mahindra’s capable 4×4 system comes as standard, ensuring the Thar Earth Edition can tackle any terrain with confidence.

Talking about the pricing, The petrol manual transmission (MT) variant starts at Rs 15.40 lakh, while the automatic transmission (AT) variant is priced at Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). For the diesel engine, the MT variant starts at Rs 16.15 lakh, and the AT variant goes up to Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices are roughly Rs. 40,000 more than the usual Thar.

While the Desert Fury color option is exclusive to the Thar Earth Edition, the Mahindra Thar offers a range of other attractive colors to suit different tastes. These color options are: Napoli Black, Galaxy Grey, Aqua Marine, Mystic Copper and Red Rage.
