How to recover the new Mahindra Thar from almost any situation: Explained

Ever since Mahindra had launched the all-new Thar in the market, we have seen several videos of it doing off-roading and modifications on the internet. In comparison to the older Thar, the new one has improved a lot in terms of features and looks. The SUV is now good for both on-road and off-road duties. Just like any other SUV, if you are planning to buy Mahindra Thar for off-roading, then you might have to make some modification to make your life easier during off-road or adventure trips. Here we have a video that shows a set of accessories that will help recover Mahindra Thar from almost any situation.

The video has been shared by Mahindra on Mahindra Thar official YouTube channel. The video is all about the adventure accessories that are available with the all-new Mahindra Thar. Demonstration of these accessories is given by the popular 5 times Indian Rally Champion Hari Singh. He starts by showing the accessories one by one. First accessory shown in the video is a GoPro Max action camera which can record videos while you concentrate on driving in tough terrains.

Next is the Bushranger Revo winch. Hari Singh calls it the mother of all the accessories. Winches can actually get you out of situation. There are gloves, D-shackles, tow rope and recovery damper are also used for safety. it is always recommended to keep the vehicle started while winching as the winch motor squeezes out power from the battery.

Next accessory is useful when the Thar is stuck in a mud hole and is not finding traction to pull itself out. For situations like that, there are Bushranger X-trax which is basically a thick rubber mat that provides grip to the tyre which is stuck in the situation. Another accessory is a hi-lift jack which is actually manual version of the electric winch that we saw earlier. Another interesting accessory that is seen in the video is an Exhaust Jack. This is actually an inflatable jack which is placed under the car and the other end is connected to the exhaust. The gases from the exhaust travel to the bladder and starts lifting the car. This is helpful if you have a flat tyre and want to change it quickly.

While going for such adventure trip one should also carry a puncture repair kit. Accessories like tail gate mounted snack tray, air compressors, inflatable bed and a backpacker tent. Mahindra is offering all these accessories so that owners can make the most out of their Mahindra Thars. Coming back to Thar, it comes with touchscreen infotainment screen, alloy wheels, roof mounted speakers, front facing rear seats and so on. It is available with two engine options. There is a 2.0 litre turbocharged mStallion petrol engine that generates 150 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. The diesel version of Thar is powered by a 2.2 litre turbocharged mHawk engine that generates 130 Bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. Both petrol and diesel engine options are available with manual and automatic gearbox options.
