DC2 is a well-known name in the aftermarket customization industry. A few months back, they modified a Mahindra Thar and called it the Thar Hulk. They did release a teaser of the Thar Hulk but now the modified SUV has been spotted on the road. The video is shot in Mumbai by Mayank Kumar.
From the video, we can see that a lot of work has been done to the Thar. At a first glance, it does not even look like the original Thar. It looks more rugged and has a lot more road presence because of the styling. Because of the massive fenders and resculpted wheel arches, the SUV looks butch and muscular.
There are a lot of changes to the front of the SUV also. There is an all-new triple LED headlamp setup and the front grille has also been redesigned. It now gets 8 slats instead of Mahindra’s 6-slat grille. There is also a rugged bumper in the front. The turn indicators are now a simple slim strip that sits right below the headlamp cluster. There are also four amber LED lights placed on the roof.

Then we come to the side, where there are massively flared wheel arches and electronically retractable side steps. It is running on chrome wheels and different tyres that are wider and taller. The body of the Thar is finished in white colour whereas the bumpers, cladding and roof are finished in black.
There are a lot of upgrades to the interior of the Thar as well. The whole interior is now finished in red and black. It now gets leather everywhere. So, the dashboard, seats and the rest of the upholstery is finished in bright red. This gives the cabin a premium feel. The infotainment surround is now finished in piano black. It also comes with ambient lighting, the stock front seats are replaced with bucket seats, DC has also added armrests with cupholders. We do not have information regarding the rear seats of the Thar.
DC usually works as per the needs of the customers. So, if he wants that the rear seats should stay then they would not remove them. They can also fit lounge seats if the customers want them. The same applies to the exterior of the SUV also. We have seen many types of modified Thars by DC. They even released renders of a 6×6 Thar that would have cost Rs. 70.4 lakhs.
We believe that DC has not made any changes to the engine or the gearbox. So, it still comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine or a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 150 PS of max power and 300 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine produces 130 PS of max power and 300 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The torque output of the petrol engine increases to 320 Nm if you opt for the automatic transmission.
