Mahindra Thar vs Force Gurkha: Who is a better off roader [Video]

Force Gurkha and Mahindra Thar are the only proper 4×4 off-roaders that are currently offered to mass-market in our country. People still are arguing on the internet about which one is better. Here, we have a video in which we can see both the SUVs doing off-roading.

The video is uploaded on YouTube by DCV Expedition. The host is driving the Gurkha in the video and we can see two Thars as well in the video. Both the SUVs are being driven on a rocky trail that has many undulations. They also cross some streams and go up and down the terrain.

The video starts with the Gurkha going down the rocky trail. It faces absolutely no problem. Then the Thar goes, it is also able to cross the trail without any fuss or drama. In the video, we can see how close the Force Gurkha looks to a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen.

Then the Gurkha and both Thars cross a stream. All three SUVs do not face any issues whatsoever. Then, it is the time to climb up a slope which is quite tricky because it is very rocky so the tyres can lose traction. Gurkha is the first one to go. The SUV’s front tyres climb up and then the underbody scrapes. and the Gurkha gets stuck. We can see Gurkha’s four-wheel-drive system working because all four wheels are spinning. Then, the driver reverses the SUV and climbs back up with momentum and the Gurkha drives up.

Then it is the chance of the Thars. Both the Thars were able to climb up without any issue and without scraping the underbodies. Then there is also another stream and slope which all three SUVs climbed very easily.

In the video, we can see that the Gurkha stays slightly more stable than the Thar while off-roading. However, the Gurkha did scrape its underbody because of the side steps, bash plate and underbody protection bars.
