Mahindra Thar, XUV700 and the all-new Scorpio N are some of the most popular models from the manufacturer in Indian market. All three SUVs have a large fan base and have a long waiting period as well. We have seen videos where Mahindra SUVs are featured in drag races, off-road trips and also of tug of war videos. We have also seen modification videos of the same. Here we have a video where a Mahindra Thar SUV and new Scorpio N SUV are seen competing against each other in a tug of war. Which SUV won the competition? Let’s check the video to find out.
The video has been uploaded by Arun Panwar on the YouTube channel. In this video, a brand new Mahindra Scorpio N and Mahindra Thar SUV are seen competing agianst each other in a tug of war. Vlogger is using his Mahindra Thar diesel automatic and Scorpio N diesel manual 4×4 in a tug of war. For the first and second round, both the SUVs were brought to a mud road. The test was conducted in 2WD mode only.

Both the SUVs were tied to each other using a metal toe rope. Both the SUVs seen here in the video belong to the vlogger only. He was driving the Scooter and his friend was in the Thar. Both the SUVs get ready for the first round and start pulling each other. In the first round, both SUVs pull each other but, cannot make any progress, The rear wheels on both the SUVs cannot gain much traction on the mud and they start spinning at the same spot.
For the second round, the same thing happened. This is when they decided to take the SUVs on the tarmac. Both the SUVs are tied to each other using the metal rope and they start pulling each other. Initially, Mahindra Scorpio N pulled Thar a bit but, soon the tyres started losing traction. The rear wheels on Scorpio N started spinning and both the SUVs started burning rubber. Mahindra Thar however managed to pull the Scorpio N with it.
For the fourth round, they changed the position of the SUVs beacuse the road had a slope. In this round, Scorpio N performed well and it pulled Thar with it. For the last round, both the drivers took the SUV to a levelled section of the road. The SUVs were lined up for the last round and surprisingly Mahindra Thar won this round too. Mahindra Thar was announced as the winner of this tug of war. Both Mahindra Thar and Scorpio N are powered by a 2.2 litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine. These engines are however tuned differently in both these vehicles. In Thar, the engine generates 130 Bhp and 320 Nm of torque. Scorpio N generates 172 Bhp and 370 Nm of peak torque.
Although Scorpio N is more powerful on paper, the SUV did not perform very well. The vlogger can be heard saying that the engine is not performing well at lower rpms and there is a limiter as well. Even after switching the traction off, the Scorpio N could not perform well. This does not mean the Scorpio N is not a powerful SUV. We feel the result might be different if the same test is done with a Scorpio N diesel 4×4 automatic SUV.
