Mahindra Thar has been a popular SUV in the Indian market ever since its launch last year. Mahindra Thar is currently the most affordable 4×4 SUV in the market with no direct competition. The SUV became so popular that currently there is a waiting period of almost an year on this SUV. Just like in the case of older Thar, people with new generation Thar have also started modifying it. We have seen several examples of the same and many of them have been featured on our website. Here we have a video where the interiors of the new Mahindra Thar have been completely customised to give it an upmarket feel.
The video has been uploaded by Raahee on their YouTube channel. When the video starts, work was still going on in the vehicle. The vlogger shows all the work that is being done and also shows the final product. On the outside, this Mahindra Thar only gets chrome garnishes. These garnishes are placed around fog lamps, headlamps, door beading, tail lamps and on ORVMs. The ORVMs are hydro dipped in gloss black finish.

Moving inside, this Mahindra Thar gets a completely customised cabin. The all black cabin in the Mahindra Thar has been now finished in dual tone. It gets a brown and black theme which gives it an upmarket feel. The plastic door panels on the Thar get brown shade and the silver accents with Thar branding is finished in black. The steering wheel, grab handle, glove box, instrument cluster are all covered in brown shade.
Event the gear knob and the 4×4 lever gets brown leather wrapping. The seats and completely draped in brown leatherette upholstery. The roof liner on this Mahindra Thar have also been customised. It now gets a brown coloured liner with diamond patterns on it. The speaker and the plastic surrounds around the touchscreen infotainment system has also been covered in brown colour material.
Damping has been done inside the car and the hard top on the Thar gets added insulation to control the temperature and NVH levels inside the cabin. The hard top also gets brown coloured leatherette upholstery with diamond patterns on it. Armrest and cup holders have been placed for rear passengers with charging sockets. Overall, the work done on this Mahindra Thar looks pretty neat and it does give the cabin an upmarket feel.
Mahindra Thar has improved a lot when compared to its previous generation. it now offers decent amount features with it. It is available with three roof options from factory. There is a soft top, soft top convertible and hard top. Mahindra also offers Thar with drizzle resistant touchscreen infotainment system, roof mounted speakers, front facing seats for rear passengers, multi-function steering wheel and so on.
Mahindra is offering 4×4 as standard with Thar. It is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Petrol version is powered by a 2,0 litre mStallion turbo petrol engine whereas the diesel version uses a 2.2 litre mHawk turbocharged unit. Both petrol and diesel engine options are available with manual and automatic transmission options.
