There were many reports that suggest that the 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine of the Scorpio will get an upgrade. The new engine was expected to be more powerful and feature the same 140 Bhp – 330 Nm tuning that also powers the Mahindra XUV 500. The entry-level 2.5-litre m2DICR engine is expected to remain same. However, according to the report, the mechanicals of the upcoming Scorpio will remain unchanged.

Mahindra will continue to offer 2WD and 4WD engine options with the updated Scorpio. The car is expected to get ABS and Airbags as standard with the facelift model. Mahindra is expected to launch the updated XUV 500 next year too. The XUV 500 may get updated engine option to take on the recently launched Jeep Compass in the market.

Mahindra is also planning to launch TUV 300 XL, S201 and an all-new U321 MPV in India in the future.
