Mahindra is working on the updated Scorpio and the upcoming SUV has been spotted quite a few times already on the test. Till now there has been no official word from the manufacturer about the launch of the vehicle. However, CarWale says that the facelift version of the Scorpio will be launched by the mid-November.
The facelift version of the Scorpio will come with minor changes on the outside. The car will get new bumpers and a new grille that will get vertical slats with chrome inserts. At the rear, the new Scorpio will get new tail lamps, and repositioned badges along with a new bumper with minor changes.
On the inside, the Scorpio will get a few updates too. There will be a new infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The colour schemes of the seats will be upgraded too.
There were many reports that suggest that the 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine of the Scorpio will get an upgrade. The new engine was expected to be more powerful and feature the same 140 Bhp – 330 Nm tuning that also powers the Mahindra XUV 500. The entry-level 2.5-litre m2DICR engine is expected to remain same. However, according to the report, the mechanicals of the upcoming Scorpio will remain unchanged.
Mahindra will continue to offer 2WD and 4WD engine options with the updated Scorpio. The car is expected to get ABS and Airbags as standard with the facelift model. Mahindra is expected to launch the updated XUV 500 next year too. The XUV 500 may get updated engine option to take on the recently launched Jeep Compass in the market.
Mahindra is also planning to launch TUV 300 XL, S201 and an all-new U321 MPV in India in the future.
