Mahindra will reopen bookings of the XUV500 between January 25th and February 3rd 2012. Those interested in booking the XUV will have to pay a booking amount of Rs. 80,000 via demand draft (DD) to the dealer. Since the company expects a huge number of bookings they will use a ‘lucky draw’ decide who gets the delivery when.
Update 27/01/12: Mahindra has received 5,900 bookings for the XUV500 within two days of re-opening bookings. We can expect this number to rise further in the coming days. Read on to see how the lucky draw for the XUV500 will work.
The draw application is available for only 10 days. It starts from 9 am on January 25th and will go on till 7 pm on February 3rd, 2012 (both days included). The applications will be available at select dealerships and will have to be deposited at the same.
Booking amount payment
Prospective buyers of the XUV500 will have to deposit the DD worth Rs. 80,000 or give a pay order in favor of “Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.”. This will be payable at the city/location of M&M local area office, details of which will be available with authorized dealers.
After the booking period ends (on February 7th) the draw will be conducted at a central location in Mumbai. The applicants will be randomly picked based on their city/dealer. To ensure credibility, a third party firm, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Private Limited (DTTIPL) will validate the draw. The media will also be notified so they can cover the event.
The results of the draw will be announced on or before February 15th, 2012 and will also be published on the XUV500′ official website. Mahindra may notify the winning applicants via courier/e-mail/ phone call/ print media.
