In India, the age-old tradition of making generous donations to temples continues to thrive, with esteemed companies and individuals alike expressing their devotion through charitable acts. One such remarkable gesture came from the renowned automobile manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra, as they bestowed the divine abode of Shirdi’s Shri Sai Baba Sansthan with a brand new Mahindra XUV700 AX7L. This cherished moment was beautifully captured in a video showcasing the ceremony and procession organized by the Sansthan.
The video of the ceremony and procession conducted by the Shri Saibaba Sansthan during the acceptance of the donated Mahindra XUV700 has been shared on YouTube by Sai Leela Times on their channel. The presenter of the video mentions that Mahindra and Mahindra, the largest SUV manufacturer in the country, has donated a brand new XUV700 AX7L to the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan in Shirdi.

According to the video, the car was handed over by Veejay Nakra, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Automotive Division of Mahindra & Mahindra and a member of Mahindra’s Group Executive Board. The official ceremony took place in front of the Sai Baba temple at Shirdi, and after a procession, the keys were handed over by the Mahindra Executive to Dr. Akash Kiswe, the Administrative Officer of the Shri Saibaba Sansthan.
During the interview, Dr. Akash Kiswe mentioned that whenever Mahindra and Mahindra launches a new model in the country, the company ensures to deliver and donate one of the first models to the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan. He also mentioned that prior to this XUV700, the company has delivered around 14 models to date, including Bolero, Scorpio, Xylo, Logan, Maximo, Yuvraj tractor, XUV500, XUV300, Marazzo, Thar, and four others.
The XUV700 is Mahindra’s highly sought-after model, and since its launch in August 2021, the company has managed to sell a large number of units. The XUV700, introduced to replace the outdated XUV500, is built on a monocoque structure and comes with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. There are two available powertrains: a 2.2-liter diesel engine and a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, both of which come with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options.
The XUV700 is the first in its segment to offer ADAS or Advanced Driver Assistance System. It comes with features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Driver Drowsiness Detection, Front Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Detection. The SUV also achieved a 5-star rating at GNCAP, with 5 stars for adult occupant safety and 4 stars for child safety.
This is not the only temple where Mahindra has donated a vehicle. Prior to the Shirdi temple, Mahindra recently gifted a Mahindra Thar SUV to a temple in Kerala as part of a ritual. The company donated its brand-new Thar to Guruvayur temple in Kerala. An important detail is that this Mahindra Thar was not a standard version delivered by the company.
What made this Mahindra Thar different from the standard ones was that it was not the regular LX variant but an AX trim version, which is the base variant. Mahindra had stopped production for the lower variants soon after the launch due to high demand. It was also revealed that this is a 6-seater version, which is not generally available to the public.
