Mahindra TUV300 Plus price revealed; 2.2 liter turbo diesel engine confirmed

The price of the Mahindra TUV300 Plus has been revealed, with the P4 variant priced at Rs. 9.46 lakhs, ex-showroom Trichy, Tamilnadu. From the looks of it, Mahindra seems to have even soft launched the vehicle in specific markets. For instance, there are spyshots that show a registered version of the TUV300 Plus in Trichy, Tamilnadu. Moreover, the vehicle does not look like a demo vehicle.

The TUV300 Plus is a longer version of the sub-4 meter TUV300 compact SUV. It features three rows of seats, with 7, 8 and 9 seat options. The TUV300 Plus is powered by a 2.2 liter turbo diesel engine with 120 Bhp and 280 Nm on tap. A 6 speed manual gearbox is offered with this engine, and we have a brochure scan that confirms this. The TUV300 Plus will not be offered with a four wheel drive transfer case.

The TUV300 Plus is meant to be a multi utility vehicle with a sporty appeal, but it will not replace the Xylo. The vehicle will feature a body-on-ladder chassis and for the NCR market, is expected to be sold with the 1.99 mHawk turbocharged diesel engine. This engine is likely to offer the same 120 Bhp-280 Nm outputs and the same 6 speed manual gearbox. It will have a body-on-ladder chassis.

There will be a cab version that will be stripped down. The cab version may also feature 15 inch wheels while the higher-end models will get 16 inch steel wheels and even alloy wheels for that matter. In terms of design, the vehicle has more street presence than the TUV300 and is also longer. But the design continues to be bulbous and not well rounded at the rear. This is something many style conscious buyers will not appreciate.
