Mahindra’s next big launch, the XUV 300 was officially revealed through pictures. Named as XUV 300, the Mahindra dealerships have started taking bookings at a payment of Rs. 20,000. Mahindra has officially announced that the all-new Mahindra XUV 300 would be launched on 14th February 2019.
The Mahindra XUV 300 is expected to be priced from Rs. 8 lakh while the top-end version would get a price tag of around Rs. 12 lakhs. It is the smallest vehicle in the XUV series and gets the same platform as the SsangYong Tivoli. However, Mahindra has changed quite a bit in the vehicle visually to ensure that it gets a unique identity in the market.
It will be launched in the sub-4meter compact SUV segment and will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport. Mahindra announced that the XUV 300 will get many segment-first features, that will set it apart from the other models in the segment. Dimension-wise, the all-new XUV 300 will get the longest wheelbase and widest body in the segment. It will translate into loads of space inside the cabin. Mahindra also announced that the XUV 300 will be the only car in the segment to get the features like dual-zone climate control system, front parking sensors, seven-airbags and disc brakes on all four wheels. There are many other features including the sunroof, 8.0-inch touch-based infotainment system, cruise control, leather seats, projector headlamps with LED and more.
The all-new XUV 300 will be powered by both petrol and diesel engine options. There will be a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates about 200 Nm while the diesel variants would be powered by the 1.5-litre engine that debuted with the Mahindra Marazzo in the market. Both the engine options would be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission but Mahindra is expected to add automatic transmission soon after the official launch of the compact SUV.
The Mahindra XUV 300 looks quite butch and gets elaborative DRLs, which give a unique identity to the entry-level SUV. Other features include a dual-tone dashboard with a central console mounted in the middle of the dashboard. Mahindra will not also offer a 4X4 option with the all-new XUV 300.
Even though it is priced at a premium, there are chances it becomes popular in the Indian market. Mahindra XUV 300 will also get a longer wheelbase version of the car, which will be launched around the next year at same time. The all-new seven-seater car is likely to get the same engine options. It will be three-row seat version of the XUV 500 and is expected to be priced competitively in the market. Mahindra XUV 300 is expected to be one of the most sought-after vehicles in the Indian market, especially with the loaded feature list and the intimidating design.
