Mahindra recently announced the name of its upcoming sub-4 meter SUV, the XUV 3XO. It is actually the facelifted version of the Mahindra XUV300, which was already on sale. Mahindra decided to ditch the XUV300 name and go with a new name, design, and features to compete with rivals in the segment. Mahindra has now released a new teaser video in which we get a glimpse of the headlamps and interior of the upcoming SUV.

Watch on YouTube

The video has been shared by Mahindra on the XUV 3XO’s official YouTube channel. The teaser video shows what to expect from the production version of the XUV 3XO. The headlamps on the upcoming SUV look completely different from the outgoing model. They are vertically stacked units with dual projector units. The inverted “C” shaped LED DRLs with a drop-down design can also be seen here. The LED DRL is expected to be a dual-function unit that will also serve as a turn indicator.

A portion of the front grille, finished in gloss black, can also be seen here. The car seen here looks the same as the XUV300 from the side profile. The SUV is expected to come with dual-tone options, and the roof rails on this 3XO SUV will have design elements on them. The next feature revealed in this video is the sunroof.

The XUV 3XO will come with a single-pane sunroof. There is a possibility that the sunroof offered with the 3XO might be bigger than those in other cars in the segment. The video then takes us to the interiors. The second-row seats come with three adjustable headrests, and all five passengers in the car are likely to get three-point seat belts.

We see perforated leatherette upholstery finished in an ice-grey shade. This is the same shade that we saw in the pre-facelift version as well as on the XUV700. There is an armrest for the rear seat passengers too. The upcoming XUV 3XO will now come with a completely redesigned cabin.

The dashboard design looks different from the older version. There is a floating-type infotainment system. Just below the new screen, we see an AC vent, a push button to start/stop, and just below that, we see two rotary knobs to control the dual-zone climate control. The steering wheel gets leatherette upholstery with multi-function buttons on it. Towards the end, we see the connected LED light bar on the tailgate and the LED tail lamps.

ADAS?

Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet, which recently got an update, offer Level 1 ADAS. However, there are reports that in the upcoming XUV 3XO SUV, Mahindra might offer Level 2 ADAS features. If that happens, the XUV 3XO will become the first and most affordable SUV in the country to offer level 2 ADAS features. Mahindra is expected to offer at least 10 driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control. The XUV 700 had made this driver assistance feature popular in the segment when it was launched back in 2021.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO will be powered by the same engine options as the current one. The SUV will come with two turbo petrol engine options and a diesel engine. There will be a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine that generates 110 PS and 200 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with 6-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.

Next is the Turbo variant, which comes with a 1.2-liter Turbo petrol engine that generates 131 PS and 230 Nm of peak torque. This variant is available with a manual gearbox only. The third is a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine option that generates 115 PS and 300 Nm of peak torque. It is also available with a manual and AMT gearbox option.
