Mahindra is all prepared to launch its new sub-compact SUV this February. Dubbed as the XUV300, it is based on the SsangYong Tivoli and will take on the likes of the Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza among others. However, Mahindra has equipped the SUV with many segment first features and it will also be among the most powerful vehicles in its segment.
To let you get a better look of the vehicles interiors, we have brought you a video, courtesy the neelu vlogs, which showcases the upcoming SUV’s interiors in the real world. Let’s then take a look at the short video before proceeding any further.
As seen in the video, the XUV300 gets typical light beige and black interiors. The cabin looks well put together and the dual tone dashboard further enhances the feel. The chunky steering unit gets usual media and telephone control buttons on it. There’s cruise control as well.
The instrument cluster has houses two circular pods, one for speed and other for RPM along with a centre mounted MID screen. The centre console is adorned by touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The infotainment system is flanked by AC vents on both sides.
Below the infotainment are the usual AC controls along with other buttons. However, the XUV300 will come equipped with a dual zone climate control, again a first in the segment. The glovebox, though a bit narrow, is quite deep and can easily be used to stow away essentials. The door pockets too are well designed and going by the video, can hold water bottles with ease.
There is also a sunroof on the XUV300, a feature that is rapidly gaining popularity among the buyers. However, features like dual zone climate control, touch infotainment system and sunroof would be only available on the top end variant and not on the base variants. Other features on the SUV include disc brakes on all four wheels, cruise control, leather seats and 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels among others.
The Mahindra XUV300 looks very premium and the company will try to unsettle the segment with this. Mahindra partially announced the features of the XUV300 that includes the most-torque rich engine in the segment and the longest wheelbase in the segment among others.
As of yet, the company has not announced the engine options which will power the XUV300. However, it is expected to be powered by an all-new G80 turbocharged petrol engine and the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine available with the Mahindra Marazzo.
Also, the SUV is expected to only get a manual transmission at the time of the launch but an AMT automatic transmission is expected to be added to the line-up at a later time. Both the petrol and diesel engines of the XUV300 are likely to make class leading power and torque outputs. Expect the SUV’s prices to start from around Rs. 7 lakhs.
