Mahindra is slowly emerging as big auto manufacturer on a global level. The company has made various acquisitions in automotive field across the world including the likes of Pininfarina, BSA, Peugeot motorcycles among others. The company is looking to refresh its vehicle lineup and with global expertise in hand, Mahindra for sure has a lead. It is planning to launch as many as 10 new cars including facelifts and generation upgrades in the coming time. Down below are the 10 upcoming Mahindra SUVs with their launch timelines.
KUV100 Electric
Expected Launch by: Mid 2019
Mahindra showcased the e-KUV compact SUV at the Delhi auto Expo and it is expected to be launched this year. The six-seater car will get many smart features like remote diagnostics, cabin pre-cooling, real-time location tracking and driving patterns. The e-KUV has a claimed range of 350 km on a single charge. Mahindra has claimed that the electrified KUV will get a 0-100 km/h time of 9 seconds and a top speed of 186 km/h, which is quite fast for a car of this segment. It will be one of the cheapest electric cars in the Indian market when launched.
TUV300 Facelift
Expected Launch by: late 2019
Mahindra is working on the facelifted version of the TUV300 since some time. We expect the new model to arrive in the Indian market by mid or late 2019. The car will get several new features apart from a fresh body design. Since now the company will have another compact SUV in the segment in the form of XUV300, the TUV300 will be priced lower. It will come with airbags, parking sensors, ABS+EBD along with other standard safety features that have been made mandatory by the upcoming safety norms.
XUV300
Expected Launch by: 14 February, 2019
The XUV300 will be the first launch for the company in 2019, which will later see many other launches being made. Based on the SsangYong Tivoli, the XUV300 will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford Ecosport among others in the segment. It will come with several class leading features like 7 airbags, discs on all four wheels, steering modes among others. Powering the car will be an all new 1.2 litre petrol engine that is said to be the most torque rich motor in the segment. The diesel motor will be the same as on the Marazzo, churning out 121 Bhp of power along with 300 Nm of torque.
XUV300 LWB
Expected Launch by: End 2019
The XUV300 will be a sub-4 meter compact SUV, which actually is a chopped down version of the SsangYong Tivoli. Mahindra, however, is looking forward to make a longer wheelbase version of the XUV300, probably of the same size as the Tivoli or even larger. It will take on the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster among others and will probably be named as either the XUV400 or XUV300 Plus. Instead of increasing cargo space, the company is more likely to offer a third row as that is offered by none of the popular compact SUVs till now.
XUV300 Electric
Expected Launch by: First quarter of 2019
Another member of the XUV300 family will be the XUV300 Electric. It will feature a slightly different design than the regular car but will maintain the overall shape. The electric version of the compact SUV could be powered by a 380-volt system along with another lower powered unit. The 380 volt battery unit could offer around 250 km range along with a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 11 seconds. The top speed can be expected to be around 160 kmph, which is quite enough for normal usage.
Thar
Expected Launch by: 2020
Among all the upcoming cars by Mahindra, the new Thar is the one most awaited by enthusiasts. The new Thar has been spied quite a few times now and even caught on video. The new Thar is much larger than the model it is set to replace. It is built on an all new platform that is reportedly shared by the the Scorpio too. It will get all safety features like airbags, ABS+EBD, parking sensors among others as per the new safety norms. According to sources, it will be powered by a new 2.0 litre engine with power figures touching upto 140 Bhp. The new Thar will also get new suspension setup with coil springs up front.
Scorpio
Expected Launch by: 2020
Along with the new Thar, another vehicle that will be launched is the new Mahindra Scorpio. The Mahindra Scorpio is among the top selling SUVs of India and has been going. The SUV has been going strong since 2002 and the company hopes to maintain Scorpio’s market share with the new model. According to many reports, the next-gen Scorpio is expected to arrive immediately after the new BS-VI emission norms go into effect on April 1, 2020. It is likely to get powered by the new 2.0 litre engine with an expected output of 140 Bhp-300Nm.
Marazzo Automatic
Expected Launch by: Late 2019
One of the sore points of the Mahindra Marazzo was the absence of an automatic transmission option. Currently, the car is available only with a 6-speed manual transmission. However, Mahindra will launch the AMT automatic variants of the Marazzo in the market before this year ends. Automatics are getting more and more popular with each passing day and it is especially necessary for a MPV to have an auto box as an option.
Marazzo Petrol
Expected Launch by: First quarter of 2020
Mahindra Marazzo is currently available with the diesel engine option only. The 1.5 litre turbocharged unit produces 121 Bhp of power along with 300 Nm of torque. The company is already developing a new 1.2 litre petrol engine that will be BSVI ready. The engine is being jointly developed with SsangYong. Most probably, the engine will will debut under the hood of the upcoming XUV300. However, the Marazzo petrol will not come before 2020 as the engine is still not BSVI ready.
XUV500
Expected Launch by: 2020

One of the most popular SUVs by the company, the XUV500 will also be getting a generation update next year. It was the first monocoque chassis SUV by the company and took the market by storm soon after its launch. Till date, the SUV has only received a mid life facelift which added a few features to the SUV along with giving it a smarter face. The new XUV500 will be built upon a new chassis and will get powered by the new 2.0 litre diesel engine that will also be found under the Thar and Scorpio with different state of tune.
