Mahindra launched the XUV300 sub-4 meter SUV a few months back in the country and the vehicle has posted decent sales till now. The XUV300 rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport, and the recently launched Hyundai Venue among others in its segment. After the launch of the XUV300, Mahindra released a cool TVC of the vehicle featuring rapper Badshah. The TVC showed some good driving sequences apart from other elements. The video below by Bespoke Films shows the making of that TVC and gives you tour through all what is involved during such shoots.
As seen in the video, the behind the scene sequences showed are quite different from what we originally saw on the TVC. The stunt sequences in the TVC were performed by trained professionals including manoeuvres like handbrake turns and high-speed passes. A Mercedes-Benz ML-Class SUV in black acts as the camera rig vehicle here. The car camera rig is a slightly complex camera setup that is used to film sequences which require rapid moving objects to be captured, like the XUV300 here. Mahindra had a special collaboration with Badshah for this TVC and he made an all-new rap song for the vehicle.
The video below is the actual TVC that Mahindra released back in April. The collective efforts of the artists, pre-production team and post-production teams resulted in a cool looking video which also showcased the Mahindra XUV300’s abilities on the road. Recently, Mahindra hit the rally circuit in a specially prepared XUV300 that could go off the road without any issues.
Talking about the Mahindra XUV300, it gets both petrol and diesel engine options to choose from. The petrol engine is a newly developed 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder turbocharged unit that churns out a maximum power of 110 Bhp and a class-leading 200 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is the same unit as on the Marazzo MPV, albeit in a slightly lower state of tune for better efficiency. The 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder diesel engine here churns out a maximum power of 115 Bhp along with 300 Nm of torque. Both engines get 6-speed manual gearboxes as standard.
Mahindra also launched an AMT gearbox variant of the XUV300 recently but it is only available with the diesel engine. Nonetheless, a lot of people had been waiting for an automatic gearbox option on the XUV300 and hence this comes as good news for them. Mahindra is currently working on the next-generation model of the Thar, Scorpio and the XUV500 which will be launched in 2020. A new 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine is also in works along with the upgradation of the current powertrains in order to make them BSVI compliant.
