Mahindra is a car manufacturer who is known for manufacturing utility vehicles. Thar, Scorpio and XUV500 are some of the popular SUVs that Mahindra currently sells in the market. Mahindra is currently working on a range of new products and XUV700 which will be a replacement to the XUV500 is one of them. Mahindra XUV700 is expected to be launched in the market later this year. Mahindra XUV500 was a revolutionary product and was a popular SUV in the market for years. Kia Seltos is another SUV that became popular in the market and is still in demand. Here we have a video that shows Mahindra XUV500 and Kia Seltos SUV in a tug of war.
The video has been uploaded by Arun Panwar on his YouTube channel. Before starting the competition, vlogger mentions that the XUV500 used here is an 8 year old SUV that has done over 2 lakh kms on odometer. In comparison to that, vlogger’s Kia Seltos is fairly new. The competition is conducted in two different terrains. First they try it on a mud road and then they move the SUVs to tarmac.

Both SUVs are lined up and the vlogger ties both the SUVs using a metal chain. For this experiment, vlogger chose a location with no traffic and a road that was under construction. After tying the SUVs to each other, vlogger steps inside the Seltos and his friend gets inside his XUV500. Vlogger moves Seltos a bit to the front and then they start pulling each other.
Within seconds Mahindra started showing its colour. It pulls Kia Seltos without any problem. As they were trying this on a loose surface, one of the tyres dug itself in. They drive the SUV out of that pit and then repeat the same. As they were using metal chains, it snapped as it was not able to handle the pressure. They throw away the piece that got snapped and continue with the experiment. In the second round on the loose mud road, the result remained the same. In fact, XUV500 pulled it for longer distance than the first round.
Then they take the SUVs to a road that was under construction. Just like the first two rounds, Kia Seltos did not stand a chance. Vlogger then mentions that he was pushing the Seltos to the limit and the XUV500 driver hardly putting any pressure. XUV500 was clearly the winner in this experiment but, vlogger wanted to do one more round where they swap the SUVs. This time vlogger was driving the XUV500 and his friend was in his Seltos. Initially, Kia Seltos was able to pull XUV500 that was only because vlogger was not accelerating at all. The moment he stepped his foot on the accelerator, it started pulling Seltos with it.
Even before the tug of war had started, it was quite clear that Mahindra will be winning this round as it is powered by a 2.2 litre mHawk diesel engine that generates 140 Bhp and 330 Nm of torque. The Kia Seltos on the other hand is powered by a smaller 1.5 litre diesel engine that generates 113 Bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque.
