Matthew Hayden, the Australian cricketing legend has been associated with Mahindra for a few years now. The stylish left-handed batsman has shared his views for the new XUV500 and the Mahindra Scorpio Pick-up truck, which is on sale in the Australian market.
Hayden talks about the 2019 Mahindra XUV500 in a video uploaded by the official Mahindra Australia channel on YouTube. He says that the XUV500 is a perfect family vehicle. He also talks about the extra boot capacity and the third-row seating that makes it a very practical vehicle. Hayden also says that he has been using the XUV500 to drop off the kids to school and the extra space comes in very handy to place the bags and other items that the kids take to school. He also mentions the standard safety equipment of the vehicle.
The Mahindra XUV500 is still available in the pre-facelift shape in the Australian market. It does not get the latest grille and other updates that are available in the Indian version of the vehicle. Also, in Australia, the XUV500 only gets a petrol engine option. The 2.2-litre mHawk 140 petrol engine powers the Australian version of the XUV500. The four-cylinder engine produces a maximum power of 140 Bhp at 3,750 rpm and peak torque of 330 Nm between 1600 and 2800 rpm. Also, the XUV500 is only available with a single 6-speed automatic transmission and three variants. In India, the petrol variant of the XUV500 does not get an AWD option, but in the Australian market, it does get the option with top-level trim.
In a separate video, Matthew Hayden talks about the Mahindra PickUp truck, which is known as the Scorpio Getaway in India. Matthew Hayden says that the PickUp is a real “head turner”. He further adds that people talk about the Mahindra PickUp because it is a great value-for-money product and offers excellent quality and looks.
In Australia, the PickUp does not get the Scorpio name like India. However, it is based on the latest Scorpio and receives the new front-end unlike the Indian version, which still offers the old look. In Australia, it is available in single cab, double cab and a better looking Black version. It is available with a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that generates a maximum of 138 Bhp and 320 Nm of peak power. It is the same engine that is available in the Indian version of the Scorpio too.
It should be noted that Matthew Hayden is the brand ambassador of Mahindra Australia just like Sachin Tendulkar is the brand ambassador for BMW India. Hayden has been associated with Mahindra Australia for more than three years now. Mahindra offers its vehicles in various international markets including Australia and African nations. It also sells the Thar-based Roxor ATV in the USA market.
