Mahindra is all set to unveil the upcoming SUV, the XUV 700 on 14th August at 4 PM. The new SUV will sit above the current XUV 500. Mahindra has teased that the XUV 700 will be the first vehicle to come with Sony’s 3D sound system. It will be powered by ‘Sound Building Blocks’ and will also feature Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Technology.
Sony says that the 3D surround sound has been specifically tuned for the XUV 700. They are using a 445 Watt 13 Channel DSP Amplifier that is connected to 12 speakers that are custom designed. There is also a subwoofer on board to add the bass.
The speakers would be placed throughout the cabin to enhance the 3D surround effect. The speakers would be in the doors, dashboard and the woofer is expected to be placed in the boot. The spy shots have also revealed that the XUV 700 would also come with roof-mounted speakers just like saw on the Mahindra Thar. This should help in increasing the 3D effect and the Spatial Sound.

The system would be able to convert every form of audio into a 3D surround space. So, you can use Bluetooth, USB, range and even online streaming. This means that the sound quality should be pretty good and it should not be depending on the source of the audio.
You might have seen speed-dependent volume control on many vehicles. Well, Sony has added speed-dependent equaliser control to the XUV 700 which works with the speed-dependent volume control. This should optimize the best volume and tonal balance and it would also minimise external noises such as wind and tyre noise.
Infotainment system
The infotainment system would be powered by AdrenoX suite. It would also come with Alexa based voice commands. It will also have Android Auto, Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment system would also be able to play videos. The vehicle settings would also be available in the infotainment system itself. There should also be some kind of connected car technology offered with the vehicle.
Other features
The XUV 700 would come with the segment largest panoramic sunroof. It will be called Skyroof. It should help in letting in a lot of light into the cabin. It would also come with personalized safety alerts that would alert the driver in the voice of their loved ones. Mahindra is also offering auto booster headlamps which are basically an auto high beam function. So, when the SUV crosses 80 kmph the computer notices it and automatically turns on additional headlamps to increase the visibility for the driver.
There is also a driver drowsiness detection which can detect if the driver is nodding off and then it would nudge the driver awake and suggest him to take a break. There will also be a new type of door handle that would sit flush with the bodywork of the SUV. This is the first time we are seeing such kinds of door handles in this segment.
