Mahindra XUV700 AX5 interiors neatly customised to look like top-end model [Video]

Mahindra XUV700 is one of the most popular SUV in its segment. It is the most technologically advanced and feature loaded Mahindra ever offered in the market. It is so popular among buyers that even now, the SUV has long waiting periods. It is the only SUV in the segment to come with ADAS features and that too at a very competitive price tag. We have seen modification videos related to XUV700 on the internet. Here we have a video where the interiors of an AX5 variant XUV700 has been neatly customised to look like top-end AX7 L variant.

The video has been uploaded by Autorounders on their YouTube channel. In this video, the owner of the brand new XUV700 comes to the workshop for interior customisation. The AX5 variant of the XUV700 comes with fabric seats and ice grey coloured hard plastic inserts on the dashboard and door pads. It is a 7-seater SUV but, it missese out on some features that the higher variant offers. The owner wanted the interior to look like the top-end variant. No other exterior modifications were done on this SUV.

The car was dropped at Autorounders workshop and the team started working on it. They removed all three rows of seat. Once the seats were removed, the measurements were taken for custom seat covers. Along with the seats, the dashboard, door panels and steering was also removed. The ice grey portion on the dashboard which was hard plastic was replaced with composite leather in ice grey colour. Similarly, the door pads on the XUV700 also got ice grey coloured leather wrap. The hand rest on the door was wrapped in black leatherette material and the power window panels were finished in gloss black.

The steering wheel was wrapped in genuine leather and the owner also opted for ambient lights for the SUV. The lights were placed on the door pads and the dashboard. Once this was done, the custom made seat covers were wrapped on to the seat. It should be noted that the fabric black colour seat covers from factory were removed for better experience. The pattern of the custom seat covers are the same as seen on the top-end XUV700. The plastic panel around the AC control were also finished in gloss black. Similarly, the AC vents were also replaced with higher variant units to go complete the look.

The finished product was looking absolutely neat and it was not looking like an AX5 model anymore, at least from the interiors. XUV700 is available with both petrol and diesel engine. Petrol version uses a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine and the diesel version uses a 2.2 litre turbocharged engine. Both petrol and diesel engine options are available with manual and an automatic transmission option. Mahindra is also offering AWD feature with the top-end diesel automatic version of XUV700 SUV. Mahindra had launched XUV700 at a very competitive price. Later, the price was increased now, it starts at Rs 13.18 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 24.58 lakh, ex-showroom.
