Mahindra XUV700 has become a popular choice among buyers. There are several variants and the difference between the most affordable and the most expensive variant of the XUV700 is about Rs 10 lakh. Here is a video by sansCari Sumit that compares both the base variant and the top variant of the XUV700 on video. The base variant costs Rs 13.48 lakh and the top-end variant costs Rs 22.66 lakh. Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Vs AX7L : Exterior
Mahindra has made both variants look very similar from the outside. A few major design changes on the outside include different headlamp units for the AX7L. The more expensive variant gets all-LED headlamps with dynamic turn indicators. The base variant gets halogen lamps to keep the cost low.
On the side, the base variant gets steel rims and no chrome on the window line. The top-end variant gets 18-inch alloy wheels and a steel bar that covers the whole window line. At the rear, there are no big changes. Both the vehicles get the tail lamp units. However, the base variant gets halogen lamps.
Mahindra also does not provide the variant monikers at the rear with the base model. Also, the top-end version gets a shark fin antenna while the other one gets a regular stick-type antenna.
The pop-out door handle mechanisms are also different. In the top-end version, you can simply unlock to pop out the door handles. In the base variant, one has to the door handle to make the door handle pop out and open the door.
Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Vs AX7L : Interior
There are major changes and differences when it comes to the cabin. The Mahindra XUV700 base gets a multilayered dashboard with an infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system gets Android Auto with the base variant but there is no Apple CarPlay. There are major differences in the features as well.
The top-end AX7 variant gets an ADAS radar-based system, a panoramic sunroof, electronically adjustable driver seat and ORVNMs, cooled seats, electronic parking brake, a bigger infotainment system, all-digital instrument cluster and more. The base variant gets five seats and the top-end gets seven seats.
Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Vs AX7L: Engine changes
Both the variants get powered by diesel engines. The diesel variants come with the tried and tested 2.2-litre mHawk diesel unit. The most powerful variants including the to-end version will churn maximum power of 185 Bhp and peak torque of 450 Nm. The base variant gets the same engine but with a 155 Bhp and 360 Nm set-up. Mahindra offers the AWD system as an option with the to-end trims. The XUV700 is the only vehicle in the segment to get AWD.
