Mahindra launched XUV700 last year and it quickly became popular among buyers. The main reason behind its popularity was its attractive pricing and the long list of features. XUV700 became so popular that there is currently a waiting period of over an year on the SUV. The base variant of XUV700 comes with decent number of features but, it is nothing when compared to what Mahindra offers in the higher variants. Aftermarket accessories have started arriving in the market for XUV700 and here we have a video where a customer from Jammu -Kashmir got his base MX variant to Delhi to modify it into a AX variant.
The video has been uploaded by Arun Panwar on his YouTube channel. The video starts with vlogger talking to the person who modified to Mahindra XUV700. What makes this MX variant special is that it gets three row seats in it. Starting with the front, the halogen lights have been replaced with LED units in the headlamps. An aftermarket dual function LED DRL has been installed in the car as well. A blue light has been installed behind the front grille which highlights the grille. Fog lamps have not been installed yet as aftermarket units are not available yet.

Side steps and rear bumper bull guard have also been installed in the car. The owner has also opted for aftermarket alloy wheels. These are Maybach like 18 inch aftermarket wheels with Yokohama tyres. After exchanging the original steel rims and tyres, the owner paid approximately 60,000 kms for the wheels and tyres. Moving in, there are illuminated scuff plates and the car also comes with floor mats. The pillars are wrapped in leather material on the inside.
The original touchscreen infotainment system and the analog instrument cluster has been retained. The roof liners have been replaced and damping has been done on all four doors, boot and the roof. The door pads get black leather wrap with white coloured patterns in it. Similar leather upholstery has been used for the seat covers as well. Ambient lights have also been installed in the car. The colour of the lights can be controlled using a mobile application.
The main highlight on this XUV700 are the rear seats. Normally, MX variant of XUV700 is offered with 5 seats only. 7-seats are available with higher AX models. The vendor actually bought a third row seat for Mahindra XUV700 and then installed it in the XUV700. Provisions for installing a third row seats were already offered by Mahindra even in the 5 seater variant which made things easier. The modifier simply bought the seat and bolted it on the floor of the XUV700. As part of the seat customisation, the second row seat had to be replaced as well because the MX variant comes with a bench seat which does not have tumble down seat to access the third row.
Video mentions that the overall cost of customising the interior on this Mahindra XUV700 including replacing the seats was around Rs 1.25 lakh. Mahindra XUV700 is available with both petrol and diesel engine options and both the engine options are offered with manual and automatic option.
