XUV700 is one of the most anticipated SUVs from Mahindra this year. The manufacturer already showcased the 7-seater SUV and we also drove it at Mahindra’s SUV proving ground in Kanchipuram. The detailed review of the all-new XUV700 is available on our website. Mahindra XUV700 will compete with cars like Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus in the segment. As pictures of XUV700 are already available online, many digital render artists have come up with several versions of this 7-seater SUV. Many of them are already featured on our website too. Here we have another video where XUV700 is reimagined as a lifestyle pickup truck.
The video has been shared by SRK Designs on their YouTube channel. The artist call this pickup version of XUV700 as XUV700 Getaway. It is named after the Getaway version of Mahindra Scorpio which was offered in the market before. It should be made clear that Mahindra currently has no plans to launch such a version of XUV700 in the market. Lifestyle pickup trucks have not been very successful in Indian market except Isuzu V Cross.

The artist has made several changes to the SUV to give it a pickup truck look. He combined XUV700 and elements from Mercedes-Benz X-Class pickup truck. The front end of the SUV retains the stock look. The only noticeable change here is the winch that is placed on the lower part of the bumper. The all LED headlamps, twin LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, dynamic turn indicators are all retained in the getaway as well.
Coming the side profile, the stock dual tone alloy wheels on XUV700 have been replaced for chunky looking off-road tyres and all black rims. The cladding on the wheel arches look slightly thicker than the regular XUV700 and there is a flare on the fender to accommodate the new set of wheels. A body skirting can be seen on the side profile of the truck. Side profile is where you start noticing more changes. The XUV700 Getaway looks a lot more longer than the regular SUV and that is because of the cargo bed at the rear.
Just like Isuzu V-Cross, artist has imagined XUV700 Getaway as dual cabin lifestyle pickup truck. It can seat 5 people at max and can have decent amount of cargo at the rear. The SUV does looks very neat and we won’t mind if Mahindra plans to launch a version like this in the market. It can actually prove as a worthy contender to the Isuzu V-Cross in the segment.
Mahindra is expected to launch the XUV700 in the market next month. It comes with several segment first features like ADAS, Merecedes-Benz like dual screen setup, premium interiors and many more. It will be offered with a 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine that generates 200 Ps and 380 Nm of peak torque. The diesel version uses a 2.2 litre turbocharged motor that generates 155 Ps and 360 Nm torque in lower variants. The higher variants generate 185 Ps and 420 Nm and 450 Nm of torque in manual and automatic transmission respectively. Both petrol and diesel engine options are available with manual and automatic transmission. The top-end diesel automatic variant will also be offered with AWD which is again a segment first feature.
