Mahindra Scorpio has been part of the police force and Indian government for a very long time now. It is still the preferred SUV considering the capability and the road presence that it offers. However, the SUV has started to show its age and fortunately, it will soon be replaced with a new generation. Currently, the XUV700 is the newest vehicle from Mahindra and it is a hit in the Indian market. Here, we have a rendering of the XUV700 as a police car.

The rendering of the vehicle is done by Amar Naik. The images and the video is shared on his Instagram page. The artist has made some significant modifications to make XUV700 a capable patrolling vehicle. The SUV is finished in police livery. So, it is painted black in colour with huge “Police” decals on the sides.

There is a big bullbar placed in the front. It is also used as a mounting point for two big spotlights. Red and Blue lights have been placed on the grille. The alloy wheels are also different and the tyres now have more sidewall. A light bar with red and blue police lights has been placed on the roof. Overall, the XUV700 now looks imposing.
Mahindra XUV700 prices and variants
The price of the XUV700 starts at Rs. 13.18 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 24.58 lakhs ex-showroom. It is offered in two trims. There is MX and AX. The MX Trim is offered only as a 5-seater whereas the AX Trim is offered as a 5 or a 7-seater. The AX Trim is also further divided into three variants. There are AX3, AX5 and AX7.
Rivals
The XUV700 goes against Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar. Because, of the way XUV700 is priced, it also competes against higher variants of the Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
Mahindra also offers Luxury Pack that is only available on the AX7 variant. It adds a 360-degree parking camera which makes it easier to park the SUV in tight parking spaces. There is a 3D Sony Sound System which comes with roof-mounted speakers. Other features that the Luxury Pack adds are a wireless charger, electronic parking brake, vanity mirror illumination, Blind View Monitoring, telescopic adjustment for the steering and a wireless charger. If you opt for the automatic transmission then you also get Adaptive Cruise Control.
Engine and transmission
The XUV700 comes with a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The petrol engine produces 200 Ps of max power and 380 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine produces 185 PS of max power and 420/450 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
However, the MX Trim gets a lower state of tune of the diesel engine. It produces 155 PS of max power and 360 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated only to a manual gearbox.
