Mahindra has revised the prices of the XUV700. The prices now start from Rs. 13.18 lakhs ex-showroom and go up to Rs. 24.58 lakhs ex-showroom. Depending on the variant, the price has gone up by Rs. 78,000.
The petrol version now starts at Rs. 13.18 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 22.75 lakhs whereas the diesel version now starts at Rs. 13.47 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 24.58 lakhs. All the prices are ex-showroom. There are no mechanical or cosmetic changes, even the feature list stays the same.

There are two trim levels in which the XUV700 is offered. There is MX Trim and AX Trim. The MX Trim is offered only as a 5-seater whereas the AX Trim is offered as a 5-seater or 7-seater. There are rumours that Mahindra might offer the top-end variants of the XUV700 with 6-seat layout in which the second-row will be replaced with two captain chairs. The AX Trim is further divided into four variants. There is AX3, AX5, AX7 and AX7L.
Engine and gearbox
There are two engines offered with the XUV700. There is a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre petrol engine. Both the engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Both the engines have set a benchmark in the segment and the XUV700 is currently the most powerful SUV.
The petrol engine is a turbocharged unit that gets a direct injection. It produces 200 Ps of max power and 380 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine is offered in two states of tune. The MX Trim gets a lower state of tune in which the engine produces 155 PS of max power and 360 Nm of peak torque. This comes only with the manual gearbox. In the AX Trim, the engine produces 185 PS of max power. If you get the manual gearbox then the torque output is 420 Nm or 450 Nm, if you get the automatic transmission.
Only SUV in segment to get AWD
The XUV700 is the only SUV in the segment that comes with an all-wheel drive system. It is not a proper 4×4 drivetrain that the Thar gets but it can still be helpful in tricky and slippery situations. The all-wheel drive system that detects slip and then sends power to the rear wheels. Although, Mahindra does give you an option to force all-wheel drive system.
Feature loaded
The XUV700 is one of the most feature-loaded vehicles that you can get in the segment. It comes with a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, digital instrument cluster, multi-function steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, motorized door handles, LED headlamps with DRLs, keyless entry, push-button to start/stop the engine, connected car technology and much more.
You also get Advanced Driver Aids System with the XUV700. There is Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto Headlamp Assist, Traffic Sign Recognization, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist.

Mahindra XUV700 continues to go against the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar.
