Mahindra XUV700 reimagined as a pick-up truck

There has been a lot of hype around the Mahindra XUV700 ever since its launch in the Indian car market. The new Mahindra SUV has caught the fancy of thousands with its urban design and features in and out, which make it look much more appealing and luxurious than all of its direct competitors and even some of the SUVs priced above it. While Mahindra XUV700 has scored well in all the parameters for its urban appeal and driving dynamics, here is a take on how the SUV will look if it gets transformed into a rugged looking pickup truck.

In a few digital renderings from ‘NSD’ that have floored on the internet, we can see how the modern and urban Mahindra XUV700 will look like if it had a distant but similar-looking with all the off-road mechanicals and visual appeal. Compared to the sleek-looking XUV700, the pickup truck looks extremely butch and muscular, with the overall tall and wide stance giving it a striking presence.

While the beautiful looking C-shaped all-LED headlamps and the attention-grabbing grille have been retained from the XUV700, there are changes to the sculpted lines of the bonnet and front fenders. There is a new rugged-looking front bumper with a sturdy silver-coloured skid plate and a large roof carrier with an LED light bar at the front.

Looks masculine all around

Move to the side, and this pickup rendering of the Mahindra XUV700 looks tough with those chunky and high-profile off-road tyres over the different looking alloy wheels. The ground clearance has seen an increase due to the raised suspension. While the front and rear door panels look unchanged with those flush-type door handles, there is a complete revamp ahead of the C-pillar to accommodate the deck at the back. Also on offer is a long side step placed below the door panels, which can make ingress and egress of the passengers easier.

At the back, this Mahindra XUV700 pickup has a subtler look compared to that of the front and side profiles. The smaller tail lamps here are entirely different from the stock tail lamps of the XUV700 but get striking LED inserts. Like the front, the rear also gets a rugged-looking plastic bumper with a small silver skid plate in the middle. The decklid at the back accommodates auxiliary off-road tyres, which look like they are purposely designed for conquering off-road terrains. There are functional rods and metal bars on the sides, on which you can mount and tie your luggage for off-road expeditions.

While this rendering looks super cool and ready to take on the treacherous of the terrains on the planet earth, such a wild-looking pickup is nowhere in the cards of Mahindra shortly. The Indian UV specialist had the rugged Scorpio Getaway in the past, which was recently accepted as a lifestyle pickup with good off-road ability. However, due to stricter safety and BS6 norms, it was pulled off the market. However, the XUV700 platform is likely to spawn a new coupe-SUV on the lines of SUVs like Mercedes Benz GLE Coupe and BMW X6.
