The Petrol automatic seen in the video is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 200 Ps and 380 Nm of peak torque. The diesel version of the SUV is powered by a 2.2 litre turbocharged engine that generates 185 Ps and 450 Nm of peak torque. On paper petrol version of the SUV looked more powerful but, will it win the race to find that out, both the presenters line up the vehicles on the start line.
Vlogger was driving the diesel automatic while his friend was in the petrol version. The race starts and surprisingly, the diesel automatic moved off the line much more aggressively. It must be noted that the diesel version gets drive modes Zip, Zap, Zoom and the petrol version does not get any. Diesel version was engaged in the sportiest mode Zoom for the race and the AC was also turned off.
Diesel version was quick off the line and was slightly ahead of the petrol version. It maintained the lead for quite some time but, as the car started nearing the triple digit mark, the petrol version started showing its true colours and took the lead. petrol variant by a small margin. They do the race once again and the result is the same initial pick up from diesel is better but, as the cars pick up speed, the petrol version overtakes.
They bring the SUVs both back to start line. driver’s exchange the cars and start racing once again. In this round vlogger’s friend who is good at launching cars managed to get a better launch and the diesel version was giving a tough competition to petrol this time. The diesel maintained the lead for most of the part but, as the car neared the finish line, XUV700 took the lead and won once again by a small margin.
Both petrol and diesel automatic versions of XUV700 come with decent power and torque figures. Vlogger ends the video by saying that, if you are a person who likes power, then petrol variant makes sense while, if you want a bit more fuel efficiency, then diesel automatic should be the choice.
