Mahindra recently launched the all-new XUV700 in the Indian market. The starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh did create a lot of ripples in the market. While Mahindra is yet to announce the price of all the variants of the XUV700, there are strong chances that the whole line-up will get aggressive pricing. How does the XUV700 compare to the Hyundai Alcazar, which was launched earlier this year? Well, here is a specification comparison between both the cars.
Hyundai Alcazar Vs Mahindra XUV700 Dimensions:
The all-new Hyundai Alcazar is bigger in size compared to the Creta. It measures 4,500 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height. The wheelbase of the Alcazar measures 2,675mm. The Mahindra XUV700 is much bigger than the Hyundai Alcazar. It measures 4,695mm in length, 1,890mm in width and 1,755mm in height. The Mahindra XUV700 is the longest SUV in the segment. It gets a much bigger footprint compared to the Alcazar.

Hyundai Alcazar Vs Mahindra XUV700 Engine:
The all-new Mahindra XUV700 gets two engine options. There is a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 184 PS and peak torque of 420 Nm with the manual transmission and 450 Nm with the automatic transmission. Mahindra will also offer a lower-powered diesel engine that will be available with the lower-end variants of the model. The diesel engine option with the Mahindra XUV700 gets both manual and automatic transmission options.
The Hyundai Alcazar gets the 1.5-litre diesel engine that also powers the Creta. It generates a maximum power of 115 PS and a peak torque of 250 Nm. Hyundai also offers both manual and automatic transmission options with the Alcazar.
For petrol, the Mahindra XUV700 gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 200 PS and a peak torque of 380 Nm. It is the most powerful engine in the segment. Both the transmission options are available with the Mahindra XUV700 petrol. The Hyundai Alcazar offers the 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated Nu engine that generates a maximum power of 169 PS and peak torque of 191 Nm. Hyundai offers both a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque convertor with the Alcazar.
Mahindra XUV700 Vs Hyundai Alcazar features:
Hyundai is known for offering a generous feature list. The Alcazar is available with six and seven-seat variants. Features include a dual-tone cabin, 10.25-inch infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, BlueLink, rear parking assist, blind view monitor, six airbags, panoramic sunroof and many others.
The Mahindra XUV700 is currently on the pinnacle when it comes to features. The car offers segment-first ADAS or Advanced Driver Assistance System that offers features like automatic emergency braking, lane keeps assist, drowsiness alert, adaptive cruise control, recognition of speed limits on the highways and more. The XUV700 also offers seven airbags, ESP, customised drive modes for diesel and more.
Mahindra XUV700 Vs Hyundai Alcazar price:
Hyundai does not offer an entry-level variant with the Alcazar. All its variants are loaded with a long list of features. That is why the starting price of the Alcazar is Rs 16.3 lakh. The Mahindra XUV700 though starts at a mere Rs 11.99 lakh for the base variants. The variants that can take on the Alcazar, specification-wise starts above Rs 15 lakh but that still makes the XUV700 much more value-for-money product compared to the Alcazar.
