The Range Rover Vogue is an ultra luxury SUV that is very popular among India’s rich and famous people. Actress Malaika Arora Khan gifted herself one during Diwali. The Range Rover she chose was the Vogue diesel engined long wheel base version. It is priced at around 2.1 crore rupees, on-road Mumbai.
The vehicle is a completely built unit (CBU) imported from the United Kingdom. It offers five comfortable seats, high ground clearance, a tall driving position, plenty of prestige and of course exemplary off road performance. It’s built by Land Rover after all.
This SUV is powered by a 3 liter V6 turbocharged diesel engine. This engine produces a peak power of 244 Bhp and a peak torque of 600 Nm. The gearbox is a eight speed automatic unit. A four wheel drive layout is standard and this SUV is a full-time 4WD.
It also gets Land Rover’s highly acclaimed terrain response system that modulates the four wheel drive transfer case’s torque delivery to suit various conditions. Paddle shifters are standard, and this will suit drivers who want to shift gears manually. The SUV also gets air suspension for a supremely comfortable ride both on and off the road.
The SUV is capable of accelerating from standstill to 100 Kph in just 7.9 seconds while the top speed of 210 Kph is more than sufficient for all Indian roads. Land Rover has given the Range Rover Vogue 8 airbags as standard. Other standard safety features include ABS, EBD, traction control, electronic stability program, hill-hold assist, hill descent control and a 360 degree surround camera system for effortless parking.
Range Rover also offers this SUV with more powerful diesel and petrol engines. There is a 4.4 liter V8 turbocharged diesel that outputs 335 Bhp and 740 Nm, and a 5 liter supercharged V8 petrol engine that outputs 525 Bhp and 625 Nm. The variants offering these engines are much more expensive though, with the top-end model Autobiography 5 liter petrol model crossing 4.1 crores.
