Malayalam movie star Prithviraj’s latest ride is a Range Rover Vogue

Malayalam movie star Prithviraj Sukumaran is known for his taste in four wheels and his latest acquisition is another classy car – a Range Rover Vogue luxury SUV worth a couple of crores. The actor took delivery of the luxury SUV with his wife Supriya Menon accompanying him. The Range Rover SUV in question is a diesel engined model, and is priced at Rs. 2.45 crores, on-road Kochi. It’s imported as a completely built unit from the UK. Called the 3.0 Vogue, the long wheelbase version of the SUV is powered by a 3 liter, V6 turbocharged diesel engine that outputs 258 Bhp of peak power and 600 Nm of peak torque. Torque transmission happens to all four wheels of the SUV through an all wheel drive system, which is also equipped with Terrain Response that varies torque to the wheels depending on the terrain the SUV is on. The Range Rover Vogue gets an eight speed, torque converter automatic gearbox sourced from ZF, which is known for its smooth and rapid gear shifting.

The SUV is also available with other petrol and diesel engine options. There’s a more powerful turbo diesel in the form of a 4.4 liter V8, which makes 440 Bhp of peak power and 700 Nm of peak torque. The Range Rover Vogue equipped with this engine costs Rs. 2.96 crores, and is available in both Vogue and Autobiography trims. The Autobiography trim is costlier, at Rs. 3.15 crores.

The SUV’s petrol engines include a 3 liter-V6 supercharged unit that makes 335 Bhp-450 Nm and a 5 liter-V8 supercharged unit with 543 Bhp-625 Nm. Like the diesels, the petrol motors get 8 speed automatic gearboxes and all wheel drive systems as standard. While the 3 liter petrol engine is available with Vogue and Vogue SE trims with prices starting from Rs. 2.45 crores, the bigger engined SUV starts from Rs. 3.26 crores and is available only in Autobiography and Autobiography SV trims.

The Range Rover is the flagship SUV from the Land Rover brand, and is now the preferred vehicle of the swish set, both in the business and entertainment worlds. The SUV is known for its exceptional ride quality thanks to air suspension. It gets leather clad interiors, lots of features and top-of-the-line safery equipment for both the front and rear passengers. The rear seat of the Range Rover Vogue can be extensively customized, and is aimed at those seeking first class airline-like comfort on a luxury SUV.
