Malayalam movie actor Mohanlal is famous for his roles in movies across various Indian languages. The actor is also known for his love cars. Just like any other celebrity, Mohanlal also has a collection luxury cars and SUVs in his garage and we have featured the same on our website in the past. A picture of the actor posing with an Ambassador car has gone viral on the internet. The Hindustan Ambassador seen in the picture is quite special as it is the first car that Mohanlal bought.

The Actor shared a picture of him standing in front of the Ambassador car with registration plate KCT 4455. The car seen in the picture is actually and Mark 4 Hindustan Ambassador. It is a 1986 model car which makes it over 35 years old. The actor shared this picture on his Facebook page and lakhs of followers have already liked and shared this picture. Several followers have also commented about the details in the picture that the actor had posted.
Hindustan Motors Ambassador has played a crucial role in India’s automotive history. It was a car that was once used by the political leaders and senior government officers of our country. It was popular as a personal as well as a commercial vehicle. Due to rising competition and low demand Hindustan Motors finally stopped the production of Ambassador completely.
The one seen in the picture is a Mark 4 Hindustan Motors Ambassador. In 1979, Ambassador got a major facelift. It still retained the overall design but, the front fascia saw some changes. The front grill was much smaller in height with a larger chequered grille and square park lamps. A separate amber indicator lamps was incorporated on the semi front lip spoiler below the bumper, which was mounted higher up.
The Mark 4 was the last of the Mark cars. For a short period the cars were available as “Deluxe” and later it was renamed Ambassador Nova. The Ambassador Mark 4 was available with both petrol and diesel engine options and the one posted by the actor is a petrol model. The car used a 1.8 litre petrol engine that generates 75 Ps and 135 Nm of torque. The car was available with a manual gearbox only.
Mohanlal has a collection of luxury cars but, he is a fan of Toyota as a brand. He owns several models from the brand. He has Toyota models like Land Cruiser and Toyota Innova Crysta. He used to own the first generation Toyota Innova and was also one of the first celebrities in Kerala to buy the Toyota’s Vellfire luxury MPV. Mohanlal likes Toyota so much that he recently bought another Innova Crysta.
The newly bought Toyota Innova Crysta was in news after the security personnel at a temple had allowed actor’s car near temple entrance. As per the reports, the security personnel had allegedly opened gates of the temple to allow Mohanlal’s brand new Innova Crysta near the temple entrance. The Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple administration has issued show cause notice to the security officers on duty.
