Assam man designs scooter with four seats to take his family along

India is a land of bizarre things and we get to see in the automobile modifications too. In the past, we have spotted many bizarre modifications including a windmill on the top of an electric vehicle. This one though is a little different and we would like to call it a scooter limousine. A man from Assam has designed a scooter for his family of four and here is a video that shows them using the scooter.

The owner of the scooter Atul Das is the owner of AD Automobile. He says that he developed the scooter a few weeks ago. For the project, Das bought two scooters and joined them together. The idea is to accommodate the family of four on the scooter without causing any inconvenience.

“It was my dream to make this scooter, and now it has come true. I have a mind to do something extra. I had started my work three years back and finally achieved my goal. I am now happy,” Atul Das said.

Das spent Rs 30,000 on the project and worked on it himself. He also claims that he has visited many places around the town with his wife, daughter and son. While it is a fascinating idea, the modification job is illegal. If the cops have not noticed it till now, we are sure that the scooter will grab their attention soon.

Structural modifications is banned in India

No, such structural changes are not legal in India. The supreme court of India and the Motor Vehicle Act ban any such modifications to operate on public roads. Such vehicles can be project cars for many and one can use them on private properties like a racing track or at a farmhouse. However, the police may seize it from the public roads.

In India modification is not allowed and even aftermarket accessories like the bullbar and other structural changes are banned too. In fact, tyres that are too big for a vehicle are banned too. Such vehicles sure do attract a lot of attention on the roads but since they are made at local garages without proper welding equipment, they can be dangerous. If a vehicle disintegrates while going on a road, it can become a cause of a big accident.

There are many limousines in India

There are many such modified cars in India that are used for weddings and are available for rent for special occasions as well. However, this is the first time that we are getting to see an extended scooter modification. If you remember the 7-seater Suzuki WagonR from Pakistan, it was built on the same lines. The owner of the car bought extra doors and added them to the existing structure of the car.
